According to Matt, my resident expert, everyone who comes to New York becomes horribly sick within the first month or so, thanks to the wonderful congested packs of diseases floating through the cities many denizens. I am currently walking this trail of fire and, quite frankly, feel awful. I took a four hour nap until 7pm and felt a bit better after that but this sickness thing is no fun. Still, I'm glad it hit me on the weekend. I'm only able to miss about 6 hours of training over the entire summer so I can't afford to be sick on a class day. I'll get plenty of sleep tonight and try to eat wel and hopefully I'll be functional again by monday.
In other news, Matt and I might have found an apartment on Gwenyth Paltrow's street. It's right in between Union and Washington squares by NYU and is about the bestest thing ever. It's steep competition so some damned wallstreeter will probably walk away with it, in which case I'm promptly putting a couple of bricks through the windows. Capitalism will tremble. The really frightening thing is that we have less then a week to get in some place before Matt's landlords kick us out onto the street. I've been scoping out the nearby doorways and overhangs and trying to pick out some good newspapers for my bedding, just in case. Hey, it's the summer, right? I love the out of doors.
