Yesterday, Josh and I headed out for dinner and the curry place we were hoping to eat at turned out to be a bit so pricey. We were both feeling like something more familiar anyhow, so we hopped a train and headed to the Outback Stakehouse and Grill (yes, the very same) in Sakae. We were seated and a waitress came over and asked in English if we would be willing to let them take some pictures. So for the next 15 minutes or so we had to sit there talking and smiling to this waitress while a camera man took near constant pictures and complimented the three of us on our "ii kanji" (good feelings/emotions). I said something small and very simple and the staff was blown away. Outback is a haven for gaijin (foriegners) from America so I'm sure they are used to people speaking very poor Japanese, if any at all. Still, it was a nice compliment. For our troubles we were awarded a singular dessert between us. Josh also got to draw a folded piece of paper from a colorful box, which unfortunately was a 'zannen' (you lose), so we got a squishy Corona Golf badge. So I am very much hoping that my picture will show up either in big and embarresing advertisements, or in some kind of porfolio to attract stock buyers.

Next, we went to the arcade around the corner where Josh and I waited around the Tekken 5 machines until a weak and pudgy looking salaryman sat down to play and he still beat us. I'm giving up.
