So I've been doing rhinestone work for dresses/shoes/etc. for a while now. However, I'm tired of doing it. It generally only happens around competitions/showcases/events where people will need to dress up in ballgowns or latin costumes, but it's incredibly tedious. When I very first started it wasn't so bad. It was something to do in my spare time, of which I had copious amounts. Spare time is in much more limited quantity now. For example, I got off work at 6pm tonight. That's unheard of in my business, generally it's 9pm at the earliest when I get off work. So I thought i was going to have a lovely night just goofing off. But no, no such luck. A woman brought me a dress and a bag containing rhinestones, and said "here, could you do this?" I suppose I could have said "no," but I've done work for this woman before, and so she couldn't have known that I wanted to stop doing this kind of thing. But she didn't even ask before buying the supplies, she just assumed that I'd do it. I don't know, I'm probably just being weird, but that seems vaguely rude. And don't get me wrong, this woman is one of my favorite students, so I still think she's great, I just wish she'd have asked before bringing it in and saying 'here you go!'
Anyway, I'm going to go back and finish the dress. Hopefully I'll get it done tonight. That'd make tomorrow and Wednesday a little easier.
