I haven't had time for a decent update...and believe me, I have one HELLISH update but no time to write it...which is why I wouldn't mind if a computer descended upon me sometime this month but we'll see...lol...
ANYway, but real quick, the one GOOD thing that happened last week was I FINALLY got to see Alexander, and I don't care what ANYONE SAYS. That movie FOCKIN RAWKED. I LOVED it! It was like a cross between Gladiator and Mel Gibson's Hamlet, both which I liked. So I don't care what anyone else thinks. Slam it all you want. There is no WAY to deny the hotness of that movie. lol. Colin Farrill (sp?) was amazing-he reminded me very much of Mel Gibson, as I said, in his dramatic style-and Angelina Jolie had a very good role even though it was silly that she'd play someone 20 years older than herself...but still, a very good role. So much of it was emotionally over the top, which is exactly what I like. Dramatic and passionate. :D! Libra that I am. And there were very good, successful, I thought, attempts at symbolic motifs, a lot of suggestion, a LOT of spectacle, a lot of HOT men, and overall just superb storytelling...and that is what matters to me.
The violence was more than I could handle and I really wish I'd closed my eyes more than I did. It's VERY bloody in places...but other than that, and other than the fact you probably couldn't take younger kids to see it, I thought the movie was great. And no, I don't take it as a "historical" film, I take it as a film based on legend, just like all the Arthur movies, and that's what makes it a good story. If people are getting upset, like they usually do, because the authors took this or that other liberty, they really should go out in the middle of their respective main streets and stone themselves, because if you really depend on Hollywood to teach you history, you have a problem that can't be fixed. :P And that's all I have to say. OH yeah: GO SEE IT!!!!!!
