Sonnety Goodness (AKA Bored at work)

In the vast skies for you I often searched,
The oceans deep, I plumbed their depths also.
Were you in the trees? Some high branch ere perched?
Or in some far cave, dark, deep and below?

I called your name a thousand times you see,
I knelt and begged your blessings all my life.
On seemingly deaf, dumb ears fell my plea,
What is supposed to bring hope now brings strife.

In the darkness, gathered, your children cry.
They seek your response, but you remain blank.
Confused, your servants had asked themselves why.
From your temples they fled, rank after rank.

For we searched and sought and you did not care,
The reason is clear, because you’re not there….
