SID Summer Festa 2010 〜SAITAMA SUPER LIVE〜 @ さいたまスーパーアリーナ (2010.7.31)
I still need to sift through the hundreds of photos from the Student Exchange Program that I had handled for work over the past week and a half...so before that I'll be posting about the SID concert that I went to this past Saturday at Saitama Super Arena!

It was a blazing hot summer day as it has been for the past few weeks, as I made the ~4 hour trip from Kamogawa to Saitama. After all the work I've been doing, an excuse to just get away from everything was highly welcome. Not to mention it felt like it had been ages since my last concert.
I got to Saitama a little early - so that I could walk around the shopping mall next to the arena...and although I should have known, I was once again totally floored by just how many GIRLS there were everywhere. It was almost terrifying, because no matter where you turned there were packs of them, and it was obvious that 99% of them were there to see the concert.
Doors opened at 3pm and the concert was scheduled to start at 5pm - kinda early, especially for a Saturday concert! But I was thankful, because I needed to leave early in order to make my way home to Kamogawa. Our seats were on the 1st floor? (その辺？since arena was 近場...), on the right side of the stage.
While trying to put aside my fear of SID's army of female maniac fans, once again I really enjoyed their performance! They are always packed with energy, and Mao's vocals were on the mark <3 I know I am satisfied with a concert when I cannot stop listening to that artist's songs right afterwards, and also have an intense desire to immediately go to karaoke and sing their songs - symptoms that I am once again experiencing. :D
I had to leave in the middle of "Milk" during the encore so I can't really say anything about the last few songs, overall I was pretty satisfied with the set list! That said, they performed a fair amount of songs from the "play" and "星の都" albums, which I'd never really gotten to listen to before the concert, but I really enjoyed those songs too. I most enjoyed songs 2-7 because they are the songs I was most familiar with...but of course "natsukoi"!!!! Because I forever love that song...and since the title of this concert was "Summer Festa," I got the most excited when they played it~.
While I really appreciate what a great sense of humor the band members seem to have, some of their MCs were overly long and grated on my nerves :/ but I guess that might be because 1) I was kinda in a rush and 2) I am not particularly attracted to any of them so I don't fangirl out just by hearing them speak. But Shinji (the guitarist)'s MCs are so hilarious it's GENIUS. I also really like Mao's outfits though! His first outfit - a military/prince style tailored jacket with skinny jeans was quite nice. And his encore outfit was a navy blue star patterned white yukata - which made me appreciate men's yukata :D
I really love SID's performances so I hope I can go again - especially now that I have gotten a hold of more of their older music, so that if they play anything from those I can appreciate the songs better...just need to somehow get over my phobia of their female fans o_o
