Can't believe it's already May! Although I wasn't particularly busy, I guess April managed to keep me running around and before I knew it, April had come and gone!
Work has been rather uneventful, although the fun will start from here :D. I think I'm feeling a lot less imo (probably helped out a lot by the weather finally picking up!) even though I'm feeling quite sick at the moment :/
Today is the first day of Golden Week, and a 5 day long holiday! Today I was out at Chiba all day hanging out with a friend...the rest of my holiday will be spent catching up on many, many things that I've really been procrastinating about - namely filing taxes, cleaning my intensely cluttered apartment, and perhaps switching my wardrobe from winter to summer clothes.
And tonight...catching up with LJ!
New glasses?!
I've been spending my April (and the contents of my wallet D:) doing a lot of stuff that I'd really wanted to do previously, but hadn't had the will to do earlier in the year, like make myself new glasses :D My old glasses were had billions of tiny cracks in the lens, making it a pain to see through at work and when driving at night. And I've always wanted the modern, black plastic frame type, so that's what I went for this time around. There is a really dorky photo down below~.
There have been a ton of movies that I've really wanted to watch, so for instance I took a trip to Shibuya with Siki and met up with Ella and Brandon and we went to see「ダーリンは外国人」and「のだめカンタービレ-後編-」. Very contrary to my expectations, the second Nodame movie was EXTREMELY disappointing. But to make up for that, "darling" was such a fun/real movie that it convinced me to go and buy the manga that it's based off on and read all of it. I highly recommend to anyone, especially those of you who have lived/are living in Japan. You can really sympathize with the topics.
Besides movies, we just kept walking around and eating XD
Awesome new taiyaki place in センター街. They have so many fun flavors! I had strawberry mille feuille, although if we hadn't had lunch just before that I would have gone for cheese curry hot dog instead.
After the movies, we stopped to rest in the new cafe "SILKREAM" that opened right by TGIF! It's replaced
Sweden's, which made me really sad at first because I went there a bunch of times during study abroad, but the new place is AMAZINGLY delicious so I am over it XD.
The interior! It is very country/girly, but nice <3
"Grapefruit rosehip jewelry softcream" or something like that. AMAAAAAAZING. Fruits and frozen yogurt and jelly!!! And then you pour in the little cup of cider and drink.
久しぶりにShibuya and its giant advertisements. This drama looks so ridiculous.
And then, this past Thursday was a holiday, so I went to Chiba to watch Alice in Wonderland! A lot of people I know gave it "meh" ratings, but I reaaaaaaaally really liked it o_O a LOT. I kinda am contemplating going to see it again?! My dream is to be able to walk as sassily as the White Queen.
Taco rice. For no particular reason, I've just been having this intense craving for taco rice! It was delicious <3
Aaaaaaand super dorky photo. I got my haircut that morning, which was a horrible experience (the haircutter lady seemed to hate foreigners o_O) and my hair turned out...ok? Same bangs as last time, but this time I dyed my hair. I asked for reddish brown but it looks...blonde-ish. Oh well. And my new glasses!! Excitement! According to my coworkers I look really mean with them on o_O.
Aaaaand the end to a super random post. Time to go and catch up on some desparately needed sleep! Hope everyone is doing well - and for everyone in Japan, hope you're enjoying your holidays! :D
