Yesterday, at tennis practice, we were playing a practice match and I was randomly hunched over in the middle of the court (I think I was laughing at some weird shot that just happened) when all of the sudden my boss, ココロナシ (aka "heartless"), hit a floating ball -- which hit me perfectly in the middle of my back >_<
He's notorious in our office for being totally insincere - he has a weird habit of over-complimenting/praising others...but not actually meaning any of it? It's hard to put into words, but you'd understand the moment you ever heard him talk. But even though he sounds kinda like a jerk, he's overall quite nice, especially to women - so apparently he was really really embarrassed about hitting me XDDD
On the bright side, at least it only got me in the back, and not on the head - or even worse, the face! It didn't hurt, it was just awkward/kinda embarrassing for the both of us?? After practice, he still seemed quite regretful, despite my attempts to get him to forget about it.
This morning I contemplated teasing him about it, but when I went to work he STILL was so regretful that he wouldn't even look me in the face - when normally he is always quick to strike up conversations! It was really awkward to try and prod him into talking, but eventually I got through. He even bought me two boxes of the amazing chocolate covered biscuit things as an apology. XDDD Poor thing!
