Las Vegas ~Winter 2010~: Day 2 (Catch-up post)

January 29, 2010.

The Vegas strip at night.

Friday!!!! My brother and his girlfriend joined us, and we stayed in a hotel along the Strip. We've all come to Vegas a bunch of times by now, so we just whittled the day away by wandering around, shopping, and eating. I took my camera and took random shots everywhere, while measuring how much we walked over the day with my cell phone (out of the whole trip, we walked the most this day - 13,000 steps!).

I managed take over 100 photos this day alone (after this I didn't take too many photos at all haha), but I cut it down to just the ones I enjoyed the most.

Stop by the M&M World for some really cute souvenirs!

I got a bag of peanut M&Ms for my boss...in the colors of his favorite baseball team, the Chiba Lotte Marines! It turns out their colors changed, so I was slightly wrong...but he still seemed pretty happy to receive them, so I guess it's ok?

Maybe Japan is still so...closed off towards other cultures, I feel really happy to see signs, etc. in different languages like this. At the Coca-Cola store.

At the City Center, the Strip's newest addition. Full of lots of high brand shops, and more to come - Vuitton, Miu Miu, Dior, Chanel, etc...

A lighting fixture at a (surprisingly reasonably priced!) cafe in the City Center. I like how it looks like a sea urchin or something...

My mum is very proud about her iced vanilla chai drink.

The world's largest chocolate fountain (!!!) encased in glass at the Jean-Philippe Patisserie in the Bellagio Hotel. I actually couldn't fit it all into a single shot, cause it stretched up to the ceiling too.

Sweets at the above patisserie.

Partaking in some of these rich...but not overly sweet! desserts. Apparently my brother couldn't wait.

Apparently the Chinese New Year is a big thing in Vegas too? At the indoor gardens at the Bellagio.

I am a tiger...so I am 年女!! I recently found out that this is supposed to be a really good thing. Supposed to be super lucky this year...but I have yet to see any of that luck. >_<

URBAN OUTFITTERS! How I missed you <3 AND they were doing an extra 50% off sale on all reduced items. God I miss shopping in the US, when they actually mark down items. At the Miracle Mile shopping mall inside the Planet Hollywood Hotel.

My brother, exhausted from all the shopping :D

"Passion" wallpaper covering a pillar in the Planet Hollywood Hotel. I guess this really caught me because the next day I was going to see Utada Hikaru live, and my favorite song by her is "Passion".

Also at the Planet Hollywood Hotel, they were having a pre-party/press conference for the Miss America Pageant, which was being held there the next day!

One of the ever popular "Tix Tonight" mini-stores that can be found throughout Vegas. It is really good for getting tickets for half price or even less for shows, dinner packages, and other stuff! Highly recommended if you ever visit Vegas.

Color changing fountain outside of Aria, the newest hotel, at City Center.

Random space outside of Aria.

Facing north strip.

Facing south strip.

City Center at night!

Anyway, that's it for now...hopefully I'll finish catching up soon and get back to posting about stuff here in Kamogawa. Hope everyone's well!
