Mmm? I can't remember what happened on Thursday. I think the basic gist was just buying some more things for my room, and meeting up a bunch of people who live in this building with me.
Btw, for those of you who don't have facebook or don't check it, a couple shots of my room:
The lame-o bedroom. I meant to make it look a lot more exciting, but I think until I get my excess crap organized, it's gonna have to stay this way. XO
Super mini-bathroom! I swear everytime I take a shower it's terrifying. If I try to face the curtain, I'm afraid it's going to suffocate me, and if I face the wall I get claustrophobic. Also the hot water knob on the faucet is DANGEROUS! Just turning it on makes its side of the faucet BURNING HOT. And I mean literally! I've already burned myself on it three times. x_x
Anyway...onto the new misadventures! Friday was our Japanese placement test, so I got to visit Keio for the first time. The area around it looks pretty exciting (of course, since it's in the middle of Tokyo), so I can't wait to go explore it!! And like most Japanese schools, it's pretty worn out looking, but eh I hope it'll be a good year.
The test itself was pretty difficult...I think they've designed it to be based off the nouryoku shiken, so everytime I reached the very end of a section (they tested on expression/grammar, listening, and reading), it was really DIFFICULT. But on the other hand, I've gotta say I'm really glad I took that newspaper class, because without it I don't think I would've been able to even look at the 4th portion of every section. Cheers to Kashima-sensei!
After that, some of the people from my dorm and I went down to Shibuya for lunch as a kind of celebration. : D Apparently, the 16th volume of NANA just came out, because there were posters EVERYWHERE, and every corner I saw had a massive tables with god knows how many copies. I also picked a copy up later ^^; but Yazawa Ai must be rolling in riches by now, although she's probably been like that. At the very end of the book, apparently the second NANA movie will be out in December, and the cast has changed! The actors for Ren and Hachiko have at least changed....Shin-chan isn't even IN the cast list. o_O But, I'm more interested in the manga anyway~ *heart*
I also finally went to Akihabara!!!! Since I went with a bunch of people from my dorm though, it's waaaaaay too difficult to move around in such a group, and you can't really go find what you want. They're all awesome though. So I have yet to see a maid cafe....But since I've got a year here, I'm sure I can remedy that in no time.
Ah! And got into a bit of a predicament.
See the guy on the left? That's Akira. He's hot. XD He looks scruffy in the picture because of the lighting, but he actually isn't. XDD
But he's insanely hilarious cause he tends to...pretty much ALWAYS say stupid things. XD Think Tamaki.
And I'm so jealous of everyone else here!!!! Everyone comes from pretty much all over, but aside from those from the US, they can speak AT LEAST three languages. Akira was born in Japan but raised in Germany, so he speaks English, Japanese, and German. Another one of our friends speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, and Dutch. And so the list goes on. GRAH! I feel some remorse at having been born an American. : P
So Saturday morning, I was trying to find another friend's room, but since three of them live right next to each other (rooms 206, 207, 208), I couldn't remember who was in what room, and just kinda picked one and knocked. Whoever yelled from inside, but I had no idea what the hell they said, so I just kinda floated in front of the door...
Until Akira opened the door clutching a towel around his bottom half.
O_O
ahaha I got pretty flustered *sad* I managed to ask him which room our friend was at (which turned out to be the door to the very left), before running away and freaking out.
Needless to say it was the start to an interesting day. But now, I'm STARVING, so I think I'll go to the grocery store. Amy, I was supposed to go see you but haven't heard anything from you!!! Life would probably be so much easier if I had a cell phone. And Kicchan, I'm really rethinking about the Docomo phone because it IS still 30,000 yen. That's almost as much as I've spent for this entire week so far, with all my moving in costs! At least the vodafone model I liked was only 10,000 yen. But I'll go check out the docomo store at the station today...
