Sooo just got back from the UVERworld concert! I'll get to that in a bit, but since today was the biggest adventure-y day I've had in quite awhile, I figure it calls for a nice long pointless post. There's also a lot more images than I normally upload, so just warning you ahead of time...
So in chronological order off we go!
First Kicchan and I met up at Ikebukuro to take care of some stuff Kicchan had to do~ Then we were STARVING so we decided on shabu-shabu!!
Mmm....all you can eat meat...o_o
After that we did a bit of shopping at P'Parco but didn't actually buy anything....but window shopping is always fun!!! I think my desire to become a lolita is beginning to resurface...the Algonquins Addiction line is SO AWESOME but oh so expensive. So Kicchan and I decided I need to find a husband who is rich and has a fetish for lolitas XDD
Then on our quest for the Ikebukuro West Gate Park, we stumbled upon this! I have NO idea what it is at all, but for all you other otaku out there does this NOT look like the prison tower Rukia was imprisonated in Bleach??
Then we found our quarry...the park! It wasn't too bad of a walk, and today was a super nice day anyway ^_^
After that we decided to go to Shibuya, where the concert would later be. We had both decided earlier that we haven't had parfaits recently enough, so we went to a sweets place called "Sweden" in Shibuya! It looks quite popular, and it was in Kurosagi (Yamapi drama). This is what I got, a kurogoma shiratama parfait with matcha ice cream <3
Then we had some more time so we went on a hunt for the ever so elusive place that had bubble tea!!! The flavor wasn't actually all that great, but it was nice to have buble tea in such a long time (>_<)
Then after some chilling at Tower Records, we finally decided to head over to the concert! C.C. Lemon Hall in between Shibuya and Yoyogi. Not actually as crowded as I thought it would be, but then again we were also going in a bit late AND C.C. Lemon Hall is not anywhere near as big as I was expecting it would be.
Now then....it's super late and I am MAD sleepy, so I can't make this live report as detailed as perhaps I wanted to...But we were on the second floor, east side, 9th row!! It was actually a pretty good view I think?
Basically, I love UVERworld and know most of their songs quite well, but I was never enough a fan to WATCH them. XD Like I always walk around listening to their stuff, but I was never interested enough to watch all their PVs (only seen one), and I've never even bothered trying to watch footage from their previous concert. To be honest, I didn't even know any of the members' names besides their vocalist, Takuya (who is of course the most important...but still).
But...tonight was quite awesome!!! Their songs are so catchy you just can't help but move to them...apparently I was so into it that I nearly punched Kicchan in the face a good number of times O_O I'm so sorry!!!
The entire audience stood up from the very first song, "Zero no Kotae"...so I kinda felt obligated to do so as well and wound up pretty much standing the entire concert! *pout* Even tho we had been seated for most of L'arc's live....
They went through a good number of their more upbeat songs from their album BUGRIGHT before finally going into the ballad-y songs (aka "Kimi no Suki na Uta" and "Hitori Ja Nai")....kinda unexpectedly (at least for me) they also did "Yasashisa no Shizuku"!! I was surprised cause it's on their first and previous album, Timeless. Also at some point in between here Katsuya, the ugly guitarist XD talked a lot and was really quite and funny <3 I love his personality tho he's quite unattractive! Then Takuya talked too and SEEMED to do fairly normal MCs...but we found out later that's quite wrong. XDD
Performance wise I thought the sound was pretty good, Takuya seemed to be pretty much on with his vocals, tho I wish he would run around the stage more? I know it's not as huge as Tokyo Dome or anything, but still. Ah-- but as slight redemption, it's always SO adorable when all the UVERworld kids do their trademark jump together~~ And Kicchan and I made lots of fun of Takuya because he is quite short and kinda resembles a leprechaun and on top of that he REALLY loves doing this retarded flailing dance and hopping off and on the little platform for him...He was like Kyo from Dir en grey but not as cool so he just looked....adorkable?
Btw tho their other guitarist, Akira, is REALLY cool! He has some weird jrock mullet hair that's like...black in the from then blonde in the back, and it looks really cool from far away and even cooler when he is head banging XDD Tho it probably does look disgusting if you were closer. ...Kicchan you should make him your new boyfriend.
Right now I can't think of anything I felt would be my "favorite point" of the concert...I mean, they didn't really do anything I found that original. But at least it was really amusing how much the members of UVERworld-- especially Takuya (even tho he is their frontman?! XD) SUCK ASS at MC. Kicchan says he was really annoying because during all the MCs he did except for the first one, Takuya tried WAAAAAAAY too hard to sound really cool and say intelligent things and just kept droning on forever and ever so the audience was just like "....*silence for five minutes* GODDAMMIT why is this man still talking?! STFU and PERFORM ALREADY you retard!!" XD

I'm not sure if their concert made me feel inspired to fall in love with them even more, but I still really like UVERworld! Their songs are catchy and moving, and always make me feel better. Perhaps, like Kicchan said, they just need some more time to refine~?
