So I'm definitely going at this point, my only problem is what to wear.
The first option is Piplup which is all finished and I've already worn it 3 times for CPAC, AB/PAX and T-Mode and is fairly comfortable.
Only thing missing is 2 of the 5 buttons I haven't had a chance to recast. I also am in a love hate relationship with the shoe covers but they literally took me an hour and a half so if I cave and actually remake them its no huge loss. Sure the makeup takes a little while to put on because I'm just not used to doing that much makeup but being able to do it at home before leaving would be great. It is also REALLY easy to get into and isn't that big since its a pair of shoe covers and a 1 piece I need to just slide my head into the hood of. The biggest issue is the weather, if its as warm as is common for this time of year there's a good chance I'm going to get overheated. Now weather.com is saying its supposed to be a high in the mid 50's but its now Tuesday and although cool the weather could change before the weekend.
The other option is the Ninja Robin costume I made for AnimeNEXT last year, which also has its own issues.
There are parts I would like to adjust to make it more travel friendly by adding pockets to the belt for my wallet and cellphone. The mask is a bit too difficult to get to attach. Also I remembered as I was pulling it out that I wasn't thrilled with the lack of poof in the shorts and I went to Joanns hoping they rereleased the fabric. No luck so far but I'm checking the Ramsey store on Thursday. Since its a sateen its difficult to just use another bottom weight because of the sheen. Realistically I could remake it after finishing things to send to ACEN, its just a question of is it worth it.
All I know is both costumes I do really like, even the parts of Robin I want to fiddle with, and I don't currently have decent photos of either so I plan on bringing my camera with me and am just about praying someone will be willing to take photos for me. Recently I've been really laid back about photos but I really miss cosplaying and the whole experiencing of having photos to share and the interactions that come from it without having to run off somewhere because of staffing or AA work.
