Very sad

It´s been a long while since I wrote anything here. Some of you might remember I announced my pregnancy at the beginning of this year. I was so scared and excited at the same time. I was scared of the responsibility of bringing a human being to this hectic world. Everything seemed perfect by then. My husband and I were a little bit wary of the idea of having a child. As time went by, we became very happy and excited with the pregnancy. It seemed everything was fine. I was having one of those ideal pregnancies with no symptoms at all until my 23 weeks ultrasound. We went very excited to meet our baby. We had a tape to record everything and wanted to know the sex. At that very moment my world crumbled. As I was lying on the table, I could see the doctor´s expression. It was not good. He started asking if I had been leaking fluid or something. I answered No.
Then he asked if any of us had a hystory of defects in our families. We answered, no we don´t. Then he said "You should contact your doctor, your baby have almost none amniotic liquid and this is not good". I, of course, was hysterical. I honestly could not believe this was happening to us. Several doctors after, we confirmed the diagnosis, my baby has Potter´s syndrome. He has cysts in both kidneys and no bladder. The condition is not compatible with life.
Now I´m 38 weeks pregnant. They proposed to terminate the pregnancy, but we just couldn´t do that. It is not for religious reasons. But as long as my baby can be alive, I will be there for him. I´m very close to giving birth and I´m so scared and sad, because I know I will lose him.
It is so surreal to have to think about funeral arrangement for a baby that is lively kicking inside your belly that I can´t describe it.
I´m sorry to write this, but I needed it for my sanity.
