RuPaul's Drag Race Season 12: Episode 12...
"*stares into the camera* Costume? This is a look." (referring to Jackie Cox calling her a costume queen... The look on her face was pure COMEDY. I liked that the queens got to perform in their walk in looks and quite frankly, I loved Gigi's walk in look)

If this was your season finale, I want a refund on the sleep I just missed staying up for this. I coulda woke up and watched it like, in 2days or so.
Episode 1 shoulda been Episode 2 and last week's episode shoulda been the season finale. The order was completely wonky and to say it was the season finale, it was so anti-climactic.
I'm not even gonna do a full rundown. That's how disappointed I am.

I mean, I dunno. I just didn't connect with this episode. Vangie won tho' and that's what made me smile...
Anywho...
Before we dive in, this is the 2nd time the lights went out on Drag Race and they showed it. The 1st time was in Season 11. Gigi said it was the ghost on Heidi attempting to stop the season from going on without her *laughs*
Man, Jackie went home this episode. I didn't fall apart but I love Jackie. Do I think Crystal destroyed her in that lipsych? No. Was it fun to watch? Yes.
You know what I noticed? This episode was lacking in proper narration. It needed Heidi (Heidi's ghost was on to something😭😭😭)
Untucked was basically a love fest this week. They did an energy circle and talked about their opinions on one another… Something they'd also done in the work room cuz yeah, out of everyone, Crystal has made the biggest turn around. (***entry pause*** I oughta make a Gif outta Max's Sunday mini shoot. He made like, 3 videos and there's a move in one that I would like preserved for all eternity. Writing about Crystal made me think about make up. Teehee)
So… This episode came down to their report cards because the variety show was damn near flawless.
Oh wait, wait! Back up! There was some "she done already had herses" and a pit crew (Hi Jason!) sighting this episode. The mini challenge was them doing quick drag for a Vegas review type deal. Can we all just take a moment and appreciate Jaida's version of quick drag? I mean, they all did a good job but Jaida always goes above and beyond the call of storyline. She looked damn good. How Gigi won with Jaida's face beat for the back row is beyond me.
Ya know, it's a shame that Allyson fucked her career all up cuz she was pristine in this episode. (Except for her outfit in the final part of the performance. What was that, Allyson?)
I dunno why they awarded a winner in this episode when last year, Yvie (I'm Yvie Oddly and oddly enough 💚💚💚) walked away with one win when it shoulda been two based on "Queens Everywhere". Had Brooke knock Vangie off the chess board but didn't feel the need to give Yvie her 2nd (*coughs* Well deserved) win. She still won the season so I'm not pressed but dude… Come on… Clear winner there and here? I liked EVERYTHING from EVERYBODY (Outside of that one thing that I've already mentioned. Speaking of Allyson, for some reason, people get angry whenever someone mentions she's doing well in the competition. Newsflash: Seeing with your own two eyeballs does not equal supporting her or her actions. It just means you're not blind, ya dig?) Once I gather this week's fits and fashions, (Hi Raja! Hi Raven! 🖤🖤🖤... Or not. I ended up swinging by my local Instagram instead) I'll go into details about the performances one by one but as a whole, it came together nicely. Will I be downloading the track? No. Will I be rewatching it? Yes.
In rehearsal, (Rip Lucian Piane's career) none of the queens really had the vocal abilities of say, I dunno, JAN (😭😭😭) but for what was lacked, they filled in the blanks with every other talent… And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how it's done.
Over at choreography with Jamal Sims, watching them rehearse and attempt to string some moves together (Except for Jaida. Jaida was straight up merking those moves) got me to thinking: Has anybody else noticed that boy Crystal always looks awkward dancing but drag Crystal is my spirit animal? She goes from "Wait… what?" to "Daaaaaaayuuuuuuum". Michelle didn't like her blue and orange dance outfit but me, I was here for the entire production. I loved it! Michelle, we all have our own tastes. I tasted Crystal's outfit and it was delicious.
^Queen… This isn't the performance outfit I was talking about but for a final look, this was so her that I have to applaud. Her performance this entire season was a master class on what it's like to start from the bottom. Each week she leveled up in some way and I don't think I mentioned it enough
^Queen. She's a fashion nerd. Art.
The best part about Gigi's performance was that slide across the stage. As soon as her heel tapped that edge, I started cheering. Gigi did the damn thing
^Knight... I like everything about this except the color. She looked like a box of fries from my job that has been glammed the house down boots.
Her performance, on the other hand, bruh, just going by what I saw, this shouldn't have come down to track record. It shoulda been Allyson against anybody else cuz Jackie was damn near flawless in this outside of that wig. Also, she was the best part of the mirror song. I don't care. I don't care. Fight me.
^QUEEN... Jaida Essence Hall, ladies and gentlemen... I don't care, win or lose, Jaida brought something to this season that I haven't seen in so long that it was refreshing. She was just unashamed to be genuine no matter what the situation. Even in Untucked when they were discussing different moments from the season, Jaida's was the one I remembered the most vividly outside of "Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you and FUCK YOU brought to you by none other than our lady of the evening, Heidi Nina Closet
^QUEEN... I hope Allyson learned from this experience. We should be celebrating her right now. Instead there's a dark stain on her track record because of her CHOICES. She didn't hafta do what she did. She chose to. Her performance doesn't even matter because there isn't a top 4 as it should be. Disqualified. Dismissed. CANCELLED.
I hope it was worth it, Joey.
I'm team everybody at this point. Crystal the most, but I'll cheer anyone who wins because this season was epic. Thank you, VH1
I can't wait to see how they're gonna pull together this ZOOM reunion show.
