It's Morphin' Time!!! SPOILER ALERT (Just in case)

"Thank you guys for being my friends."
- Politically Correct Billy (I am officially upgrading him to Mega Super Badass Nerd Billy... Jason may have been the leader but this was totally his movie)

So, unlike with most of my movie opinions, Imma do this one in key points. Why? Cuz this movie was so awesome, it deserves bullet points. Now, on to my thoughts...
*** Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa was everything I deserved, wanted, needed, masturbated to (Ya know, if did such a thing) and so much more.
***Billy. Yo, Billy. I am officially dropping the "Politically Correct" from his name. *points* As mentioned up there, this was totally his movie. He found the power coins and even though he couldn't remember how he managed it, he was the 1st to morph. I also liked how they portrayed him as Autistic. That was an interesting angle to play off of.
***Kimberly being a cheerleader with a naughty side was actually interesting. I mean, she wasn't a bad girl but she did a bad thing and the fact that she admitted she lied about it was rather interesting. There was a part in the movie where her ex-friends were picking at her and she cut Kimberly's face outta a photo then slammed the other half into the wall with a pair of scissors. All of a sudden, I hear a tiny voice (Kid couldn't have been more than 4 or 5) go: "That was very mean". It was cute as hell.
***Trini is either bi or a lesbian. Or... She might still be figuring it out. I actually like that they didn't flat out say one way or another. She was pretty much the reluctant one. She was the "no no" to Billy's "So are we like Spiderman or Ironman?"
***Zach. Hm... Zach taking care of his possibly dying mother was actually an interesting turn of events. He was being all jokey, flirty and mysterious so yeah, finding that out was kinda a good back story. I liked that he
shared his feelings about the possibility of her dying. That would be hard for anyone... Even a superhero.
***I 100% enjoyed that Jason was the star quarterback but no matter how much of a star he was, he was a fuck up. Like, he still wanted adventure and his friend totally jacked off what he thought to be a female cow. THAT shit had me rolling. That and the part where he smacked the shit outta the boy who was bullying Billy. I actually laughed out loud cuz boys don't slap. That's a chick thing. It caught me off guard so I burst out laughing. Jason was a great leader.
***Zordon and Alpha 5 were EVERYTHING
***At the end, when Goldar (Dude, Goldar was just as "cheesy" as he looked in the commercial. Teehee. I'm sorry. That's literally the only complaint I have. Everything else was just the right amount of yes so I am choosing to overlook the Velvetta Shells and Cheese statue realness he had going on. *Violet Chotchi voice* Come through, Velvetta! Sorry Goldar. To be honest, I don't know who had the bigger product placement: Velvetta or Krispy Kreme... Kudos to Rita for snacking on that donut during the battle... As you do) was pushing them inside the hole and they thought they were gonna die, I am so not gonna lie, even though I've watched just about every trailer so I knew they would be fine, my eyes teared up. They did such a good job developing the characters that it hurt my heart. Job well done. I liked that they didn't get their powers right off like a typical movie. They developed the Rangers so much that who they were and what happened to them mattered to you.
SPECIAL MENTIONS...
***Saw Amy Jo Johnson (Original Kimberly) and Jason David Frank (Original Tommy *drools* Speaking of Mr. Oliver, they teased of him in the after credit scene... Can't wait to see who they cast)taking a pic of the MegaZord as it was dancing ("It's like a MamaZord. Nah, that's lame. It's a... A MegaZord!" -Billy)
***The putties and Jason's zord were fighting around this car. Jason's zord stepped on top of the car. I nudged David and was liked: "That car looks like Bumblebee." Not 20secs later, Jason picks up the car and crushes putties with it. Guess what he says?! "Sorry, Bumblebee." Good eye, me.
I didn't expect it to be so good. This was beautiful. Great cast. Great effects *cough cough* Not Goldar *cough cough*
I totally left wanting to see it again.
Later
PS: I full on started clapping and fangirl squealing when they played the original Power Rangers theme as the zords were charging to battle. It wasn't a remix or anything like that. Flat out, 100% the original *applause *
