"I closed the door."
- Laurynn
"Why?"
- Me
"For you."
- Laurynn
"For me? Why?"
- Me
"So people can't see your butt."
- Laurynn
"People?"
- Me
"Yeah, Kylee, Mo Mo and Zyi... So they can't see."
- Laurynn (This one conversation sums up my entire relationship with Laurynn... Protection in one cute little package)
I saw Zootopia FINALLY yesterday. Yes, I am aware I am behind. Doesn't matter. Given all the topics in our world in this day and age, it's kinda crazy that this movie, in this contex, to this degree, was made at all. I mean, strong and ended well. I would have tweaked a few things with the ending but nonetheless, it was the meat... The BULK of this movie is why I lost my damn mind over it... No lie!
Oh, and Nick Wilde... Yo, dude can get it. In the blended city of Zootopia, it's a wonder that he's single. Dude was smoother than cream cheese on a bagel.
When Judy gives this speech on predators when she thought she'd cracked the case... Dude, yo... I just wanted her to shut up! She was just digging her own grave and when they started twisting her words, I just wanted to throw a shoe at my TV! I was just sitting there with my mouth hanging open in disbelief.
But that's not what got me the most... In the end, when you find out the government was behind all the fucked up shit... Yo, what?! Who greenlit this movie?! It even had the cop angle. I also liked how how Judy's relationship with Nick progressed throughout the movie. It was ubber believable.
I mean, if they ended up dating or whatever the hell... Shit, I wanna see the world's 1st Rox! (See what I did there? Not gonna lie, I didn't like the word Fabbit...)
Either way, I totally want everyone to see this! At work, I was telling everyone how awesome it was and I honestly believe that out of everyone, black people should give it a go... Especially in these uncertain times. Instead of dropping down to the government's level, we as a people... As freaking humanity, we need to be rising to our own level.
Defeat the beast.
Don't feed the beast.
