*shrugs* Don't Ask...

One Brave Soldier
Snow flurries to the ground, but it doesn’t stop the war. Snow crunches beneath their feet, still yet, soldiers move forward.
Gunshots blast through open air. Men dive to the ground, desperate to get out the way.
Blood splatters against stone streets, not everyone could get away. One soldier stands his ground, refusing to cower in fear.
Round after round, he shoots at his enemies, watching them fall to their knees.
Buildings burn, smoldering to ash, with no place left to go, the soldier stands his ground.
Forward he marches an army of one, still carrying the burden of fight.
Before he rounds the third corner, his body falls to the ground. Taken down like everyone else, his eyes wide open, reflecting the night sky.
Death came to collect before he was ready, slain all who marched before him.
Smoke rises slowly from his blue coat, a hole left behind where the bullet tore.
Snow falls around and over covering him with chilling warmth, freezing him away from the winter air.
Don’t worry soldier, you fought on when no one else could. No one will turn their eye against your sacrifice. So rest now brave soldier, you’ve done all you could. You’ve made the world proud to know your name, as we always knew you would.

*points up* Um, don’t ask. I have no idea what the Hell I was thinking when I wrote that. All I know is, I’ve been sick since last Saturday and today since I can’t walk on my break, while I was there, I wrote that. The only good thing about being sick is David will carry me anywhere. I didn’t hafta walk for four days. Other than that, adding in the trip to the emergency room, it was a miserable experience.
*sighs* I wanted to type something else but, I’ve taken all my meds and now I’m sleepy.
Here’s to hoping these stupid drugs will keep the insomnia away! My hat’s off to this…
And to my mysterious soldier.
Later

meds, random, poetry, weird, word vomit, tired, sickness
