So, how many of you went to go see SMTOWN NYC tonight? Well, both the other mods did! Leaving me to do this weeks rec all alone (aren't they so cruel?). None the less, here is your weekly fix of SHINee fic. The usual applies: not all the good fic, just the ones we thought deserved the mention. There are some particularly amusing ones this time around :') Enjoy!

airport fashion / Jonghyun-centric
by hongjinri

There was something different about Jonghyun today, Kibum noticed, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. It wasn’t his outfit; he was dressed in black skinny jeans, a simple fitted tee and his new gray jacket. It wasn’t his appearance either; he hadn’t lost weight nor did he have a haircut. No, it was some more subtle - or perhaps not so subtle since we’re talking about Jonghyun.

“Hyung, how many insoles did you wear today?” Kibum carefully asked, somewhat surprised and a tad suspicious to actually meet Jonghyun’s eyes at eyelevel.

“Kim Gwiboon.” Eli sighed, shaking his head. “How do I even begin to describe Kim Gwiboon.”

“You don’t need to.” Junghee didn’t bother looking up from the paper, eyebrows furrowed in concentration. “Like I said already, she’s a grade A bitch.” Eli pretended not to hear and pointed across the field to the basketball courts.

come on home and turn me on / Jongho

“Oi, Choi,” Jonghyun says, stern and toothy. “Get your hand off my ass.”

“You get your ass off my hand, Lilliput,” Minho laughs, pulling it out all the same. The winter shakes it amicably as he gets up, pressing on Jonghyun’s shoulders until he’s lying down fully.

“On or off?” he asks and Jonghyun looks up at him, hair mussed and pillowed. He doesn’t say anything, eyes fluttering shut and Minho slips out of the room. The light is still on and the mugs cool by Jonghyun’s bedside long into the night.

crescent / Onho

Perhaps Jinki is bitter. But Jinki's busy now - he's got musical performances and tv shows and group activities - too busy to watch what Minho does with his time. And who cares if Minho's spreading himself so painfully equal among the members? Who cares?

Really. Who cares?

nothing gold can stay / Jongyu
by lemon_skies

Jinki started the day with a family and ended it in the company of police officers.

They said that in one summer afternoon, his parents mysteriously vanished off the face of the Earth. It was the source of town gossip for months - the Lee's sudden, very peculiar disappearance.

The house was neat and organized - just how the Missus preferred. The car was still parked in the garage - just waiting for the Mister to drive it to work. Inside, the house was stocked with food, and the bills were ready to be paid months in advance, as if waiting for someone to live out those months. It wasn’t as if there were any strange signs, if not for the note, most would have assumed that the Lee’s were merely away for a few days and left their teenage son to fend for himself.

wax and anchor / Onho
by estimate

Sometimes Minho watched him. The moon anchored itself onto Jinki's back, casting shadows on the welts across his spine and ribs and intersecting across each other like a map, maybe their map home, maybe one that would lead Jinki back to him. Minho couldn't read it anymore, either way.
