Chapter 9a:
Kame hurriedly stepped inside the bar, where Ryo’s gang usually hang out, with an anxious expression on his face, Junno had called him earlier to inform about Tatsuya, and the thought of his best friend plus his boss might be kidnapped was definitely not very plesant. Following him was Junno and Akanishi Jin, he had met Junno just minutes ago on his way back to the bar, while Jin… well, they were on a ‘date’ (that’s what Jin called, but Kame kept denying) when Junno called, and Kame had immediately ran all the way to the bar without saying anything to him.
Ryo took a quick glance at Jin and realise his confusion eyes staring back at him, but he also noticed a hint of seriousness in them, looked like Jin, too, had something to tell him.
As to affirm his thought, Jin walked past Kame and came to Ryo’s side before grabbing his leader’s arm.
“We need to talk,” he whispered, low enough for just Ryo to hear.
Ryo nodded.
They excused themselves to go to the room inside, not that Kame or Junno really cared.
Jin carefully closed the door, making sure that there was no one eaves-dropping.
“Talk!” Ryo demanded as he leaned to the wall opposite to Jin, annoy was clearly evident in his voice, really, what the hell did his friend want? He already had the missing case of Tatsuya to solve.
“Well, earlier, when I t..touched Kame-chan-“
“I don’t need to know about your love life!” Ryo snapped, he couldn’t belive his friend would talk about such things in this situation.
“N-No!” Jin shouted, his face reddened, “I didn’t mean it, I mean different.”
Ryo sighed, “Then, make it quick!”
“Uhm… when we were waiting for our turn in the line at the ferris wheel, Kame was losing his patience and his flushed face was absolutely hot and se-“ Noticing the murderous look on his leader’s face, Jin gulped and hurriedly skipped to the main part, “I mean… he was pushed by the crowd, and I catched him before he fall, my hand had put around his waist and I feel something…” Jin said hestitantly.
Ryo raised an eyebrow, what was all these things mean?
“I think… he hides a gun…and I’m confident that my feeling skill is precise.” Jin finished.
Ryo’s eyes widened. A gun? What kind of people wearing a gun around? A cop? No, Kame was barely old enough to be a cop. But what if he was really a cop? Since when did cop take interested in street gang fights? Was Kame undercover? Then what about Tatsuya? He’s like Kame, too? Was he really homeless or he just wanted to get close to him?
If it’s true, then, what should he do? Tons of questions overwhelmed Ryo’s mind, but it didn’t seem like he could answer any of them, his brows furrowed further.
Ryo trusted Tatsuya, he didn’t know how but this was the first time he had ever trust someone so fast, and just he thought of Tatsuya betraying his trust was just too much.
He knew what was happening to Tatsuya, he had received a message on his phone earier, saying nonsense that he had to come to a certain place alone so that his lover (this was why he decided the message was nonsense) could be safe. He had expected this, he had already had a feeling that Tatsuya being kidnapped was because of him. Ryo had determined that he would follow to the message no matter what, because it was his fault after all, how stupid of him to let Tatsuya ran out by himself last night, especially when he knew perfectly that Tatsuya might be in danger since he had made so much enemies in other opponent gangs.
If Tatsuya just tried to get close to him on purpose from the very beginning, then should he go save him? Ryo wondered.
“What should we do now, Ryo-chan?” Jin’s voice somehow sounded a bit far away, Ryo’s brain almost couldn’t get the question.
Ryo shook his head weakly, his mind flitted through all the reasons that he should not make any more connection to Tatsuya and his friends. But despite that, his mind also conjured up Tatsuya’s pouting face when Ryo teased him and his fear face before he dashing out of Ryo’s house, Ryo wondered what face Tatsuya was making right now, Tatsuya was imposibly naïve, maybe he couldn’t even realize his dangerous situation right now.
“I-“ Ryo hestitantly spoke, he shook off the thought that Tatsuya betraying his trust, it clearly appeared that Tatsuya was now in danger, “I must save him.”
Yes, Ryo was sure he did not want Tatsuya to suffer in anyway. And it was that realization that confused Ryo the most.
