Superman Should Have Stayed Dead. (Spoilers)
When I first heard Superman Returns was in the work, I was pretty skeptic about the whole thing.
To me, Superman was dead. But then it came out and there goes the critics singing it praises. Althought I very rarely listen to those (I'd much rather make my own opinion), I gave in and told myself Hey, if so many ppl likes it, it's gotta be worth watching at least once right?
Wrong. -_-
I know I never uses this thing but I just have to get this off my chest, so,
I decided I would just rant it all out of my system.
Superman Returns
----------------
Good:
-Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. (He was a lot meaner than the original one but it worked for me.)
-Kitty, Lex's Luthor assistant. (As twit as we expect all of Lex's assistant to be.)
-Special Effects. (Welcome to Superman of the 21st century. It was what was expected of it and the comp tech guys did their job well.)
+Plane Scene at the beginning.
Nice Quirk: The scene where Lois takes off her high heels and step on Superman's feet to go flying with him. (That was pretty cute.)
Bad:
-Bradon Routh's acting Skill. (Zero :x He might have the looks but thats all he had going for him.)
-The excrutiatingly long, pointless, screwed up and boring story that they tried to sew together they thought they had to do to make this film possible. (Which was a serious mistake if you ask me.)
+Lois Lane engaged and with a kid, The fact that she waited less than 1 month before finding another guy, The Fact that it takes 3 years to go to Krypton so 6 years if you count coming back yet, 9 is the age they mention in the movie. (What? Did Superman get lost in space for 3 years?)
What pissed me off royally: The 10 lines they quoted word for word from the Original Masterpiece. (I don't know if that was meant to touch the old fans or whatever but it just insulted me. You wanna do a new superman? Fine. Leave the REAL one out of it. Lame-o :x)
And the absolutely horrifying thing in this movie: Actress who plays Lois Lane. (She didnt look the part, didnt act the part and was just really awful. I don't care if Margot Kidder has grey hair and lost all of her teeth, I'd take her back instead of this one anyday.)
Comparaison Between Old and the New:
-Same Opening credit design.
-Same Ending Scene
(Again, If this was for the sake of ppl thinking of it as a sequel and not an entirely new concept like it should have been, they just poked themselves in the eye.)
-Superman Actions-
The new one has barely 2-3 of those and they're nothing we havent seen before but I'll humor them by pointing out they were the same thing that happened in the first one.
-Plane crashing.
-The Stopping of a natural disaster caused by Lex Luthor by going in the Earth's core.

Okay, so all in all you can sum it up to one word: Unoriginal.
Get new writers boys :x
I don't know if sorely disappointing would be right in this case since I was expecting this from the
beginning but it was still sad to see.
