I don't know how true this is... but...
A fan tweeted...
昔、慎吾ちゃんと観月ありささんが第2の百恵&友和目指しますとか、言って共演続いたの思い出す~(*^^*) 古っ!(^_^;)
"Long ago, Shingo-chan & Mizuki Arisa-san said they were aiming to become 'The Next Momoe & Tomokazu',
and it came true, they continuously work together."
What, what, what? What is this?
So I checked out who is this "Momoe & Tomokazu" couple...
Yamaguchi Momoe & Miura Tomokazu were an actress and actor appeared in a lot of movies and TV series back in the 1970s. They have appeared together in total 12 widescreen movies O_o And I'm not sure how many times they appear together on TV shows. They were known as the hottest on-screen couple back in the 70s in the Japanese entertainment world. And they finally got married in 1980, and their last movie together was premiered on the same year. Momoe even made a public confession "The man I love is Miura Tomokazu-san,"
And Shingo/Arisa wanted to become The Next of this couple?????? O_O What does this meeeeaaaannn????? XDDDD >_< XDDDD
Well, they have to beat that 12 films record if they want to become like the 70s couple, hahaha~
I can't find the source of where Shingo/Arisa have said that before, probably it was a very old interview, hard to find... but most probably for the Ichiban Taisetsu na Hito's promotions?
There's definitely something going ooooonn between them??? Waaaat?
Anyway, this is my analysis of how they got casted for Ocean's Eleven.
Who got involved in this project first? Might be Koji, because he's the most active one in the musical world.
Arisa is out of question because she has no musical experience. Shingo is the biggest possibility though, but I don't get the reason... because the production teams: Umeda Arts Theater & Takarazuka had no connection with Shingo whatsoever, in the past.... the director too.
But TV Asahi IS the sponsor... I'm not sure if sponsors have a say in the casting... would they? If they do, then my prediction goes like this...
The director wanted to make the non-Takarazuka version so bad. (maybe he realized O11 with all-female cast just doesn't work, lol) So he asked cooperation with Umeda, then they looked for sponsors and TV Asahi agreed to sponsor, in the condition they get the rights to choose the cast. Shingo has a very close relationship with TV Asahi through SmaStation, and I'm thinking maybe it was TV Asahi's idea to cast Shingo as the lead? And TV Asahi knows a lot about Shingo's past works and not to mention they invited the whole Shinsengumi cast to SmaStation back then. They knew it takes more than a musical for Shingo to accept the offer, so I think TV Asahi immediately proposed the idea of casting Koji as well.
As for Arisa... I think TV Asahi gave Shingo the freedom to choose his female lead, the person he's most comfortable with to play the role as his wife. I read rumors that with career level as high as SMAP in the Japanese entertainment world, sometimes they have the freedom to choose their co-star. TV Asahi might propose some ideas, but the decision was on Shingo, I think. And God knows why Shingo chose Arisa to play his wife.
I think there's really small possibility Arisa's casting was decided by the producers, due to her zero experience in musicals. She get to be Shingo's co-star in two years in a row, I think its too much of a coincidence. My best guess, Shingo offered the role to Arisa back when they were shooting Jinrui Shikin in New York ;)
What do you think? Does this make sense?
