After 174 hours(7 days) of no electricity, taking cold showers, hanging clothes on an outside clothes line, no phone, no internet, no television, I can now say that I am connected to the outside world. Thank the heavens above. A special thanks to the New York linemen who came down to this miserable mosquito infested swamp to get electricity back up for our community. I owe them my sanity for I was very close to losing it.
We loss very little in way of personal possessions but so many in the next parish over from us lost so much. You can have it all one day and see it all blown away the next. Yet we're alive and well and now we'll wait to see which path Hurricane Ike takes. We may be going through all of this again. It's good to be back. I missed my friends and my on line communities.
