Since I have some new friends, I saw this meme and decided to snag. Thanks to
bzzinglikeneon for the easy c&p.
You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
- First Name: Amy. But I do answer to Shing cause it's part of my Chinese name.
- Age: 34
- Location: Toronto, Canada
- Occupation: Chartered accountant working in a public accounting firm. You know those pesky auditors/accountants that come into your office every year, ask you lots of questions and generally be a pain in the ass? That's me.
- Partner: Nope.
- Kids: A no on that one too.
- Brothers/Sisters: 2 younger brothers. The youngest, 28, is in the computer security dept at one of the banks here. The older, 30, is the dentist, currently at the University of Manitoba specializing in ortho and planning a wedding.
- Pets: None. I'm a dog person myself but there's no way I can take care of dog at the moment.
- List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life: Work pretty much takes up a lot of my time. I spend way too much time on the computer/internet, it's getting a bit ridiculous. I need to get out more. This summer is mainly filled with brother's wedding stuff.
- Where and for what did you go to school for?: Obtained my Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. After that, it took a while, but I finally got my CA designation in 2003.
- Parents: Parents still married and living in Markham, a suburb north of Toronto. Mom, after working as a computer programmer at the same company for almost 25 years, floundered a bit when her department was outsourced. Switched career paths to accounting of all things (trying to teach your mother accounting/bookkeeping was interesting to say the least) and is now working as a clerk at Coca-Cola. Dad, also a computer programmer, retired last year and is keeping busy with household projects. Once they run out, I won't be surprised if he returns to the workforce in some manner as my dad is the classic workaholic.
