the g20 protest is messing up my plans

Huge protest going on downtown right now. All public transit south of Bloor has stopped. The Eaton Centre is locked down (yes, with shoppers still inside!). Bank & store windows have been smashed. 2 police cars have been torched. For the first time in this city's history, tear gas has been used. Of course, all this is due to a group of ( Read more... )

As always, it's just a small group of troublemakers. Wouldn't be surprised if these so-called anarchists don't even know what that means, just uses it as an excuse to cause damage.

I was out earlier to St. Lawrence market about 6 am because I figured the protesters wouldn't get going till later. It was very quite and dead there.

Now, I'm staying inside for the rest of the weekend or at least till I get a little stir crazy.

I was going to do that - head to St Lawrence Market this morning but I didn't wake up early enough.

I'm okay so far but I know I'll go stir crazy tomorrow. It's one thing to decide to stay in all weekend, it's completely different if you're forced to. I think I'll take a quick walk early tomorrow morning... if I wake up in time!

Early morning seems to be the best time to do stuff right now.

Holy crap. I've had the football on (darn that Ghana, again...) and not seen any news. That sucks.

On the positive side, you've gotten to wach some Burn Notice :)

Hey sorry about the football game but I'm quite impressed that US even made it to the Top16. I mean France and Italy didn't even make it!

I'm almost finished S1 of BN. I thought the voice-over would become annoying but so far, it hasn't. There was one instance when the mom said something like "Oh Michael" and I fully expected Micheal Novotny (QAF) to walk through the door LOL

Everything and anything. The troublemakers are supposedly anarchists but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't know what that even means. Mainly the protests are against governments, policy, big banks & corporations (rich vs poor), anti-capitalists, etc. Name a cause and they were probably out there protesting.
