Summary: Jonghyun’s grasp on the only thing he thought he could even pretend to still understand about Kibum trembles and shatters, and his mind is blown as he realizes that this whole time, Kibum has not come to Daegu alone. And not only has he not been alone, but he’s been with Choi Minho the whole time-not just any old Choi Minho, but Choi Minho. The very same Choi Minho that had been Jonghyun’s one and only competition for Kibum since high school, his one and only rival. His tall, tall, so uncommonly tall and sexy rival with the deep and sexy voice and the flaming charisma that Kibum had always talked about. Not only this, but now, he’s even taller, his voice is even deeper, even more muscular, his hair is shorter and….KIBUM IS ALL OVER HIM!?! “HOW THE HELL CAN THIS BE HAPPENING!?!?!”
Yes, sadly, it's in parts again. Sorry for that...here's PART TWO:

Minho closed his eyes tighter as he felt the warmth that had been snugged so closely against moving. He woke but kept his eyes closed as he felt Kibum moving from where he had been resting his head against his chest, and began to get up from the bed. Minho let out a quiet breath before slowly opening his eyes and glancing towards Kibum, curious as to where the older boy was going-even though he could probably guess. It was a cold and rainy day that day, making the room really dark for it to be almost noon, so Minho didn’t know what time it was. All he knew was in the night Kibum’s regular bad dream about Jonghyun leaving him was even worse that it had been for a while, and that they had stayed up together from three to almost seven in the morning, Minho’s arms holding Kibum close against his heart and talking quietly with him about anything that they could think of, in hopes that it would help to calm the other boy.
Kibum yawned as he got out of his place in Minho’s bed (Minho sometimes wondered why he paid extra for a two bed room if they never even touched the bed that was supposed to be Kibum’s, but-sleeping next to Kibum-there was no way he was going to complain), and made his way across the room silently, and grabbed some clothes from his dresser, before slipping into the bathroom to change. Minho let out another breath and sat up on the bed, supporting himself on his elbows and glanced at the clock until the bathroom door was opened again, and the beautiful older boy made his way back into the room. He was a little surprised to see Minho awake and sitting up in bed, but only smiled at him as a way to say good morning.
“Are you going out to see Jonghyun now…?” Minho asked quietly after a moment, as he continued to sit on the bed and watched Kibum get ready.
Kibum nodded slowly before making his way to the closet to grab some shoes, bringing his knee against his chest as he slipped a pair of boots on. “Mnn…I’m sorry I kept you up so late last night and made you have to sleep in so late-it’s already past noon.” He said, after a moment.
Minho shook his head before getting out of bed himself and walking over to open a window, glancing out to find a gray blanket of rain outside so thick that it was hard to even see twenty feet away towards the other side of the dorms. “I already told you I wanted to be with you last night…” He muttered, before glancing away from the rain and glancing back towards Kibum again. “Be safe going out to his place. It’s raining hard outside and it’s hard to see. Do you want me to make you something to eat before you go?” He added.
Kibum smiled at him before shaking his head, glancing in the mirror to make sure he looked perfect and beautiful as always. “Nah, don’t worry about it, Minho-yah. I’ll be home soon. Maybe afterwards we can go out and have lunch together instead, okay? It’s Sunday, and his only day off of school and work, so I want to give him some restful time today too. I just-really want to see him again.” He said, smiling lightly and slightly sadly at the last part of his sentence. “I…guess that after sixteen years of being with him and seeing him every day and every night, it’s something you begin to want to always be able to do. After four years of not knowing where he was or how he was doing-I guess I just worry about him when I’m not with him. Even if I don’t want to bother him-I can’t not see him at least once to remind me that he’s not far away from me anymore, and that he’s okay, or else I’ll worry too much. I’ll be home soon, I just want to see him quickly. I’ll be there maybe twenty minutes, and if anything changes, I’ll call you, okay?” He asked.
Minho half smiled before lightly picking Kibum’s jacket off of his bed and walked close to him before helping him get into it, and then buttoning it for him softly. “Everything’s okay now, Key. You don’t have to worry so much…but even so…I understand that you want to see him. Go ahead and see him for as long as you want-I’ll be here when you get back.” He said, quietly.
Kibum smiled beautifully at Minho before standing on his toes to reach the taller boy better, wrapping his arms above Minho’s shoulders and hugging him closely and tightly to him. Minho smiled as well, and put his arms around Kibum’s back gently. “Be safe.” He added, after a moment.
“Thanks, Minho-yah. I’ll go now-and then, let’s go get lunch together or something, okay?” Kibum asked, as he pulled away from the hug in order to reach his bag and slip it over his shoulder, knowing that the other boy was following him until he reached the front door and turned back around to wave. “I’ll see you soon!” He added, smiling widely.
Minho leaned against the doorframe before nodding and waving Kibum off, following him with his eyes until Kibum disappeared into the stairwell to get to Jonghyun’s apartment again. “You better look after him while he’s with you, Kim Jonghyun…” He thought slowly, glancing back towards his dorm, about to go back into it before he suddenly heard a rather familiar voice singing loudly, and his eyes fell upon a stack of three boxes piled on top each other moving along the hall way on short and wobbly legs, making their way to the empty dorm room next his and Kibum’s. Minho’s eyes slanted slightly and he didn’t even notice that his face suddenly turned sour.

“Yeobo~my lovie~I’m here now! I’m coming in, okay? I hope you’re awake, it’s waaaay past noon!” Kibum sang happily, as he rushed through the hall so he could make a happy stop in front of the familiar door to Jonghyun’s dorm. “I hope you kept your dorm clean, I spent so long cleaning it-If I come home to a filthy dorm, I’ll have to punish you~!!!!” He started happily, eyes closed as he skipped to the door and pushed on it slowly, knowing that Jonghyun had probably tried to lock him out, so was about to dig through his pocket for the keys, when he suddenly opened his eyes and found the door was already open, revealing a completely empty dorm room in front of him. There was no sign of life where Jonghyun had once lived and his huge smile dropped completely, eyes as wide as they could possibly get before he felt tears rushing to them quickly.

Minho let out a quiet breath to calm his nerves before taking a sip of the hot tea. He always drank tea in the morning, opposed to coffee. He had always hated coffee, and thought that it was terrible that so many people got so addicted to it. Plus, he really hated what it did to Kibum when he drank it. Since Jonghyun left, and Kibum had all but been adopted by him, they both had started a “coffee-less lifestyle”, after Minho realized just how insanely hyperactive Kibum became after drinking it. Tea was good, it had enough caffeine in it to keep people going, but it was also a calm drink, and was especially good for Kibum, seeing on how it calmed him down so much.
Minho sighed into his teacup and closed his eyes as he took the first sip, but he suddenly jumped and almost spat it out when he heard a sudden and familiar frantic scream coming from the hallway, before the door was flung open and in ran a sobbing Kibum.
“MINHO-YAH!! MINHO-YAHHHH!!!! HE’S GONE! HE’S GONE, MINHO-YAH! HE RAN AWAY! HE’S LEFT ME AGAIN!!!!!” Kibum screamed in despair and heartbreak as pure terror shined in his beautiful eyes, tears running down his cheeks.
Minho remained silent but set down his tea and walked over to Kibum slowly, only to be surprised as Kibum quickly, almost immediately, grabbed him and latched onto him, and buried his face in his jacket, clutching onto the taller boy as if he was the only thing that was keeping him from drowning as he continued to sob uncontrollably into his shirt.
“He’s gone, Minho-yah…he’s fucking gone again. He’s fucking left me again and has run away from me. He doesn’t care, Minho-yah. He doesn’t fucking care about me at all! He doesn’t care if I die without him…he’s gone again, even when he knows that I need him. Does….he really hate me now? Does he really hate me so much that he has to run away from me again? Wh-when he left four years ago…was it really because he didn’t love me anymore, but just couldn’t find a way to break away from me? I-I-MINHO-YAH!” He sobbed bitterly, face completely buried in Minho’s shirt, kneading the jacket on Minho’s shoulder as he pulled the other boy so close to him that it was impossible for them to get any closer. He was filled with the same anger and despair as the first time Jonghyun had left him all alone. If not for the fact that Minho had held him so close and told him softly that he would be waiting for him to come home-he might have even considered ending it all again. His heart had defrosted after he had decided to find Jonghyun again, but it had left behind frostbite; wounds that only Jonghyun could heal. Now that Jonghyun had left him for the second time, his unhealed wounds only hurt more, and the ones that had healed relapsed. He didn’t have any strength left, and just sank into Minho weakly.
Minho sighed, combing his fingers through the shorter boy’s hair and pressing his head firmly, yet gently, against his chest. He remained wordless for a long moment of just holding him, before pulling the shorter a little bit away from him, holding his shoulders, but brushing his thumb against the teary cheeks as Kibum glanced up at him pitifully. “Go into the hallway for a moment, Key…” He muttered, after a moment, leaving no indication as to why he had instructed the other boy to do as he said.
Kibum shivered as he was forced to stop hugging onto the other boy for a moment, but remembered a very important thing that he had learned in the last four years; always trust Minho. Don’t stick around throwing questions at him and making him explain himself, just trust him: he would never do anything to hurt him, Kibum knew that. Kibum did his best to dry his tears before nodding and following the instruction.
As he stepped out of the dorm and into the hallway to find nothing, Kibum’s heart dropped. Did Minho really just send him out to the hall just to get rid of him because he didn’t want to deal with it? Did even Minho hate him too, and wish that he was gone? He whimpered a little bit quietly, and was about to give up when he suddenly heard the talentedly strange and oh-so-familiar voice he had grown up hearing, deafeningly singly loudly and funnily.
”Ttereojyeo ggaejil deutan tumyeonghan neupe*-eeeeeh!” Jonghyun sang loudly and happily, carrying a few boxes towards his new room and dancing happily to his iPod, when all of a sudden he heard the noise of someone taking off running towards him as quickly as he could, and the next thing he knew he was on the ground, Kibum attached to his waist, his thin arms wrapped so painfully tight that Jonghyun could barely breathe, tears flowing down his cheeks as he quickly moved to begin hitting Jonghyun repeatedly.

“YOU! YOU BASTARD! KIM JONGHYUN, YOU SICK BASTARD! Are you trying to kill me! Why would you do that?! Why the hell would you do that? Do you have any idea how much you scared me? Do you have any idea how terrorized I was to find your home empty again after four years!? I thought you had left me again! I thought that you had run away from me again, and that I’d never be able to find you! Don’t do this to me, Kim Jonghyun! Don’t do this to me anymore! Don’t leave and suddenly scare me like this…I….I-I can’t take it! I’m so scared without you-don’t leave, Jonghyun!” Kibum cried quickly, his scolding and yelling turning into begging as he sat between Jonghyun’s legs and latched himself onto the older boy’s chest, holding him so close that it was as if their bodies would be crushed if they got any closer.
The dumbfounded Jonghyun could only blink with confusion at this, but was stopped as he felt himself softening at the feeling of Kibum’s tears against his shirt. He sighed and placed his hand gently on the back of the younger boy’s head to comfort him, before glancing at the floor where his headphones sat, still blaring. “Kibum….what are you talking about? I wasn’t trying to abandon you…..I mean…I can’t deny the fact that I was running away from you for a little while, and moved into another dorm to escape you, and was hoping that you would never find it again-but, I would never abandon you here all by yourself now that you’ve followed me. We might not be as we were before, but I could never leave anyone somewhere they’re not really familiar with all by themselves-“ His voice trailed off at the end of the sentence as something suddenly struck his mind. Kibum wasn’t by himself. He stopped and looked all around them quickly, in hopes of finding the giant, but he was unsuccessful. His eyes slanted themselves as he looked around unhappily. The only thing that was around the two at that time were the shut doors and shared dorms (most of them unoccupied or taken by the silent type that hardly came out of their rooms). There was nothing in the hallway that Minho could possibly be behind, aside from a small fire extinguisher, which Jonghyun knew would be impossible for the giant to hide behind. “So…he’s not here…huh?” He thought slowly as he glanced around.
Suddenly, Jonghyun was quickly snapped back to reality by the sound of a content and guilty giggle and the feeling of Kibum rubbing his face and nose into the slightly exposed skin under Jonghyun’s unzipped jacket (how it somehow got to be unzipped like that was as much of a mystery to Jonghyun as it was to anyone else…well, besides Kibum), and finally heard Kibum speaking against his chest. “Kekekeke, Jonghyunnie! When’d you get so muscular??” Kibum squawked happily against Jonghyun’s muscles, before playing with his biceps. “You didn’t have these in high school…” He added, as Jonghyun wondered about how it happened that Kibum was suddenly so comfortably laying in his lap. “Not to mention, whatever kind of cologne you use now smells like heaven. Whatever you use now smells so much more manly than the stuff you used in high school…but, I definitely know that it’s you, because you still have your mole between your collarbones…aigoo, Jonggie, I missed you so much…” He sang, wrapping Jonghyun’s arms around him before playing with the zipper on his jacket.
Jonghyun shuttered quickly before scrambling up to his feet the best that he could, trying to get the younger boy out of his lap and arms before anyone saw them in such an intimate looking position-oh, wait, that whole having a girlfriend thing and the fact that he wasn’t supposed to be loving the closeness-“Yah! What are you doing!? I-I-I’m really busy! Stop commenting on how I smell! Aigo, Kibum!!” He snapped quickly, marching around in tight and quick circles, making Kibum smile contently.
~~
A few hours later, Jonghyun let out a relieved breath and dropped onto his new and smaller bed, resting his tired muscles. After a while of struggling and about seven times of promising Kibum that he wasn’t going to abandon him again, Jonghyun had finally been able to sigh and escape from him, but had to take the elevator up to the fifth floor again even though he had been right next to his new room’s door, all so that Kibum wouldn’t be able to tell where it was. After that, he decided to go to Onew’s dorm to help him finish packing. When all was good and done, and only after he helped Onew carry about twenty cardboard boxes of heavy-ass textbooks to the dorm, Jonghyun was finally allowed to flop down onto the new dorm’s single bed. He hadn’t had much to unpack, just his clothes, Roo’s things, his coffee stuff and one cardboard box full of things that he immediately hid in his closet. Onew, however, was up to his nose with textbooks and notes and a bunch of other geeky stuff along with a few chicken associated accessories, thus Jonghyun was busy for a few hours, and received exhausted muscles. But, now, finally everything was all unpacked and he was finally allowed to collapse down onto his bed and think again. However, the moment that he did start thinking again, he wished he could distract himself with work again, for at the very moment he was allowed to think again, Jonghyun immediately thought of one thing.
“M-Minho! Choi Minho is Kibum’s boyfriend!”
Jonghyun’s eyes reopened before slanting angrily unintentionally. “Choi…Minho…” Jonghyun growled furiously through his teeth. “I remember you. Yes, I remember you very well. You were the oh-so-disgustingly six foot tall sophomore that Kibum would always call ‘flaming charisma’ or whatever. The one who always thought that he was too good to talk to anyone but Kibum. Yes, I remember you, Choi Minho. And I remember the only two words you have ever said to me…” He growled.
“You’re short.”
Jonghyun steamed angrily just thinking of it. “Damned Choi Minho!! I am NOT SHORT.” He snapped loudly. “There’s no way-NO WAY Kibum could ever be with this guy! NO WAY! Kibum wouldn’t date a mute giant! There must be a mistake on Onew’s part. There’s a lot of Minho’s in this world…there’s no way it could really be the same Minho! Hahaha, that’s absurd…but, still, Kibum is still with someone right now, even if it’s not Choi Minho. But…who is it?” His thoughts were cut off by a sudden call from a certain Onew in the other room.
“Jonghyun-ah!! Come here for a second! Don’t get really mad at me though-really, I couldn’t help it! U-u-ugh…j-just come anyway, okay?” Onew called, voice obvious that he had done something bad (probably his clumsy condition caused for him to break something of Jonghyun’s), as he nervously called for his new roommate.
Jonghyun groaned and rubbed the back of his neck as he got off his bed and slowly made his way towards the living room where it sounded like Onew’s voice was coming from. Knowing Jonghyun’s luck, Onew had probably fallen and broken his best coffee mug or something and was now worried about him getting very angry at him. That would explain the nervousness in Onew’s voice. Jonghyun sighed again as he continued to rub his temples as he walked into the room, not looking up. “What’s the matter now, Onew?” He asked, after a moment.
However, after a couple moments passed and Jonghyun still hadn’t received a response, he stopped and glanced back up curiously-only to find his eyes falling the very sight of Kibum’s big smiling face, a large plate of some interestingly shaped purple jello in his hands, and then…up, up, up until Jonghyun’s eyes went as wide as they could get without exploding as he looked up at the very face of no other than Choi Minho.
Jonghyun was only left frozen in place, eyes huge and not breathing, even when Onew began sweating, worrying about how furious Jonghyun was going to be about him letting him in when he was told not to, even when Kibum let out a loud and happy cheer “Hello neighbors!!!”, and leaped into his arms hugging him, all that Jonghyun could do is stare up, unbelievingly at Minho.
“No.” Was all Jonghyun’s mind was able to process at that moment. “There is no. way. There is NO WAY IN HELL this can be possible!” Jonghyun did all that he could to silence his screams as he glanced up and down, staring Minho down as if he was to conduct a study on him. “There’s no way. He’s gotten…even TALLER!!! HOW DID THE HELL DID HE GET FREAKING TALLER!?! Oh. My. God! And he’s cut off all his woman hair he had in high school, and he’s gotten muscular all of a sudden a-and he’s more manly than before and-WHAT THE FUCK IS KIBUM’S HAND DOING ON HIS WAIST!!!?!??!” His mind exploded quickly, as his eyes reached their size limit as they fell defeatedly upon Kibum’s hand oh-too-comfortably-holding Minho’s waist.
“Jonggie! Yeobo! You remember Minho-yah, don’t you?” Kibum was singing happily as Jonghyun’s hearing returned to him, and as he noticed how Jonghyun continued to stare at Minho without blinking. “Minho-yah is here with me in Daegu, and we live together, so since we’re both your neighbors now, I thought I shouldn’t hide him from you and hog him to myself anymore!” He said happily, taking the plate of jello back from Minho’s hands before pushing him forwards (Jonghyun couldn’t help but notice how his palm brushed Minho’s hip as he did so). “Say hi to Jonghyun, Minho-yah!” He instructed.
Minho remained completely silent as Kibum pushed him forwards until he was only a few inches away from Jonghyun and he glanced down, down, down at the angry little face that was staring up at him furiously. Push down the exact fluffiness of the older boy’s new hairstyle, dye it blonde, and get him to stop standing on his toes, it was the same exact Kim Jonghyun that Minho had known in high school. Jonghyun might have tanned some and gotten more muscular, true, but unlike Minho, by the looks of it-hadn’t grown an inch since the first time he had ever seen him.
“He’s still short.”
Jonghyun’s hatefully slanted eyes snapped open, almost not believing what he just heard. That was it. That made the grand total of five words that Minho had ever said to him before in his life, and now, Jonghyun knew for sure that he hated his guts. “YAAAAAAAH!!!!! I AM NOT SHORT!!!!!!!!” The small and unhappy older man screamed at the top of his lungs, jumping up and down furiously in Minho’s far-from-the-ground face.
This only caused for Kibum to laugh lightly, bringing the back of his hand to his mouth as he watched Jonghyun leaping about angrily. Having Jonghyun and Minho with him at the same time was the best of feelings for Kibum. He didn’t have to miss one or the other at that time. Not to mention, the way that Jonghyun was screaming and jumping up and down stubbornly took him right back to his high school days, when he always had both around him, and the days were peaceful and happy. He only wished that things could go back to being like that again.
“Key, you recognized me this time. I’m so happy! Not to mention, you brought over cake and jello! Why’d you come over today? How did you know that Jonghyun and I just moved in here this morning?” Onew asked, distracted from the screaming Jonghyun and the muted Minho by the nice-looking boy standing in front of him with a large plate of jiggly jello.
Kibum glanced up from watching Jonghyun bound about before shooting a nice smile at Onew. “I already told you I recognize you, Ori. We both know each other by now. And I know where you guys live now, because it just so happens that you two moved right next door to…me!! We’re neighbors now!! Surprise!!” He sang cheerfully, eyes falling back onto Jonghyun to hear his reaction.
Jonghyun stopped mid-I’m-not-short-leap before staring at Kibum with humungous eyes. “We-you-WHAAAT!?!?!?!?!” He screamed quickly.
Kibum glanced up, pleased to see Jonghyun paying attention to him again, and doing something other than defending that 173cm was not short, and smiled at him contently. “Yes! We’re neighbors now, Yeobo! I live right next door!!! Now I can stay at your place for longer, because now you don’t have to worry about my safety with transportation getting home! It’s almost like we live together, huh, Yeobo? Isn’t it great? I’m really thrilled. Of all the dorms that you and Ori could have moved into, you moved right next to mine!!!” He sang happily.
Jonghyun’s eyes looked so devastated it was as if they had just been shattered, as he realized how close Kibum actually was. But, then, suddenly a realization hit him. “WAIT! Stop your untruthful words right now, Kibum! You’re only trying to make me worry! There’s absolutely no way that you could live next door to me. This whole section of the dorms is for people who are sharing a room only! You can’t live here, because that’d require for you to have a roommate! Ha! I figured out your lie!” He stated, quickly.
Six eyes fell upon Jonghyun at that moment, as Jonghyun still stood, pointing at Kibum boldly, content smile on his face. “Ugh…Jonghyunnie yeobo, have you been listening to me at all this whole time? I’ve already told you like three times that Minho-yah and I live together-we’re next door. Are your ears okay, Yeobo? When was the last time you cleaned them? Should I take you to the doctor to get them checked?” He asked, but as he stated that he and Minho lived together he stood closer to the younger boy and wrapped his arm around Minho’s waist again, comfortably placing his head onto Minho’s shoulder.
Jonghyun’s eyes only went as wide as they ever had before (which was pretty freaking huge), and his jaw dropped to the ground as he heard and saw this, and he only began to steam even more as he watched the extremely close skinship between the younger pair, and just how comfortable Kibum looked holding onto Minho like that.
Onew seemed shocked at the news as well (He and Jonghyun had never been the smartest pair), and took the time to quickly analyze the touches between the two, before slipping closer next to Jonghyun and whispering something in his ear. “Wah, do you see that? How close they are together? I’ve read in a few books of sociology and heard people say that if a couple can hold each other both by the waist (like they’re doing), it means that they have already slept together. They must be closer than I thought they were originally.” He whispered, causing for Jonghyun to go weak and almost fall backwards at the thoughts.
“You two must be really serious about this then, huh? I didn’t know you two were so intense.” Onew asked after a moment, looking back between the touches of Kibum’s hand on Minho’s hip and Minho’s arm around his waist.
Kibum glanced up from resting his head on Minho’s shoulder before nodding. “Oh yeah! We’re really serious! If my eomma knew what I was doing, she’d probably be pretty mad, but since it’s with Minho-yah, she’s letting me do it anyway (I just can’t let her know about Jonghyunnie). This is why we came to Daegu in the first place! I mean, at first I thought Minho-yah wouldn’t want to, but one day he just came up and demanded it. I was pretty surprised, but now I’m happy that he forced me to let him.” Kibum answered casually, figuring that Onew had been informed by Jonghyun about his mission to get him back, and just thought that Onew must have been talking about that instead of anything else.
Onew, however, having actually been asking about the maturity of Kibum and Minho’s (as he thought) relationship, and Jonghyun, whose mind had just been placed (due to Onew) in the idea of Kibum and Minho s-s-sleeping together, both choked on nothing and Jonghyun had to catch himself on Onew’s shoulder to stop himself from doing a face-plant due to shock.
“You WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?!?!” Jonghyun screamed loudly, causing for Kibum to glance up from Minho’s hand on his shoulder and turn his attention back to the older boy, giving him concerned expressions.
“Yeobo? What’s wrong? It’s better than coming for you by myself, isn’t it? I mean, ever since you left, Minho-yah has been there with me, so of course he’s going to be together with me now. And this way, I’m not alone anymore. Minho-yah is important to me.” Kibum asked, after a moment.
Jonghyun struggled to get his mind out of the place that Onew had oh-so-evilly put it in, but no matter what he tried, he couldn’t stop from glaring up at Minho hatefully. Minho was the only thing that could have ever come close to being a competitor for Kibum back in high school. He was the only one who Kibum had ever agreed to see outside of school without Jonghyun being there with them. Not many of the boys and guys who had asked Kibum out before could make Jonghyun feel nervous or even jealous in the slightest, or, even, care if they asked Kibum out, before he knew that Kibum would reject them right away and drag him over to meet the one who he was already “engaged” to, but that never happened with Minho. When Kibum was with Minho, the whole “I belong to Jonghyun and Jonghyun only” attitude suddenly disappeared and Jonghyun would be stuck chasing after the taller and younger pair like an ignored and neglected puppy, trying to catch Kibum’s hand to slow him down enough to where he could keep up with them.
Jonghyun, while standing there in the present, felt his emotions taking him right back to the day where Kibum had gone to Minho’s house (without him!) to “rap”. Jonghyun had sat right next to his bedroom window, staring across the street at Minho’s house, whimpering quietly like a puppy-a puppy standing next to a table with a huge steak on it, with an empty belly, and yet knowing that he was chained up and could not go near that steak no matter how much he wanted it. It was like when he was a kid and he had to deal with watching Kibum as he continued playing with his favorite dinosaur toy, without yelling at the three-month-old child for sticking half of its head in his mouth and sucking on it. It was hell. When four hours, forty-three minutes and couple fractions of a second passed and the door across the street opened, Jonghyun had to deal with catching a glimpse of Kibum smiling as he stood on his toes to wrap his arms above Minho’s neck and hug him close and after he pulled away, making a gesture that signified tallness. Jonghyun made a noise that sounded quite like a boiling teapot before he quickly snapped the pencil he had been holding in two and marched outside to grab Kibum’s hand, and pull him back into the safety and anti-Minho zone of his own bedroom.
Four years, a few pounds of muscles, and not even an inch taller than before, Jonghyun growled furiously and snapped the plastic Chicken Mexicana spoon he had been holding. Wait-plastic Chicken Mexicana spoon? Since when did he-he glanced around him to find himself in his dorm, three familiar faces smiling at him, one with a strange resemblance to tofu, one beautiful, and one…..Jonghyun snapped his spoon again with frustration.
Then finally, words started to come back to Jonghyun again. “…bo? Yeobo? Jonghyunnie? Honey? Stop zoning out, bad things can happen to you when you’re so out of it, you should knows this from the time that I drew a mustache on you in the sixth grade. Have you even noticed that I have moved you into the kitchen and sat you down? Yeobo, you still zone out so often.” It was Kibum’s voice, and Jonghyun glanced up to look at his pretty face.
So, Kibum was right. He had somehow been moved into the kitchen and sat down at the table, which now held four bowls of jello, a cake, and the remains of the chicken Onew was swallowing. He remained silent as he continued to look around.
“Anyway,” Onew started, discarding his chicken bone onto a large pile near his end of the table, before taking another. “Key, why did you bring jello and cake today? You didn’t have to, even though it’s appreciated.” He asked.
Kibum glanced up from giving the stubbornly pouting baby another spoon to replace the one he had broke. “It’s in American culture to bring someone jello or cookies to new neighbors. I learned that when I visited America for a short while about two years ago. Not to mention, Jonggie loves jello, doesn’t he, baby?” He asked, smiling as he turned to look at Jonghyun again.
Jonghyun remained silent and stubborn, much like a pouting two-year-old, as he glanced down at the strangely shaped woggly purple thing in front of him. “It’s purple….” He started slowly, but suddenly as he realized something, his face fell to a pure look of jealousy and disdain that Onew swore he could hear it make a low and annoyed “brlooop” as it fell, and Jonghyun realized that it was indeed purple. Purple; Minho’s favorite color. “I don’t like purple jello.” He finally spoke, glancing away and into the air like a stubborn toddler who wasn’t getting his way.
Kibum glanced up at him with confusion before glancing back down at the table. “Oh…you used to like jello…..oh well, at least I brought you and Ori cake.” He said quietly, knowing better the fact that Jonghyun loved cake than he knew that the sun rose in the east. He smiled lightly and took the knife from the side of the cake. Jonghyun made a face, having to admit that the cake looked really good. “You still love cake, right, Jonghyunnie?” Kibum started to ask, but as stopped when he suddenly felt his hand being cupped lightly by Minho’s until the sharp knife was taken from his hand, and Minho took it in his own.
“Careful, I’ll do it.” The silent boy muttered, only loud enough for Kibum to hear it, as he slowly began to cut the cake for him.
Kibum smiled beautifully at Minho as he did this, before taking his hand from Minho’s to run it lightly over the top of the other boy’s hair and placed his other hand on his shoulder. “Thanks Minho-yah…” He said lightly.
Minho was about to smile back at the gorgeous boy, but was suddenly shocked when he was interrupted by the loud noise and the tremble of the table as two furious fists slammed down onto it, and an extremely unhappy Jonghyun shot to his feet, flying up from where he had been sitting before.
“NO! NO I DON’T LIKE CAKE ANYMORE! I don’t fucking like cake anymore, Kibum! I’ve changed since then! I’ve changed since then and dammit, so have you! I HATE CAKE NEGATIVE A HUNDRED-THOUSAND NOW! I HATE CAKE AND I HATE YO-“ Jonghyun began to scream loudly, but caught himself and changed the subject as the word “you” started to come from his mouth. “-I HAVE A DATE WITH TIFFANY SO LEAVE ME ALONE AND DON’T FOLLOW ME!” He screamed furiously, before quickly stomping away from the table and speeding away.
All three pairs of eyes remained large and glued on Jonghyun until the shortest of the four had marched himself out of the door and slammed it behind him. “J-Jong…” Was all that Kibum had managed to stutter out quietly before the door was slammed behind the furious other. As the door was slammed, Kibum blinked and winced at the loud noise, his smile melted from his face, and he fell back onto his chair weakly. Minho glanced down at the cake before pulling his lips in. “So that’s what makes him angry…and that means he….” He started to think to himself, until he suddenly noticed tears in Kibum’s eyes, and quickly moved to put a comforting arm around the other boy.
“….Wow! Key, Jonghyun must really hate cake or something! I’ve never seen him this furious before!” Onew finally chirped in, getting a glare from Minho as he pulled the crying boy into his arms more. Onew sighed as he played with his jello with his spoon before finally speaking what was on his mind. “Well…either that or-don’t get me wrong, but-I think that Jonghyun must really like you.” He added.
Minho secretly dropped his head and sighed at Onew’s slowness, but didn’t say anything and kept his arms around Kibum, who still looked completely shocked as he stared at the door with teary eyes.
