Onew has never been the best at lying. He can’t manage to pull off. It isn’t a lie that he loves Minho.
Onew can feel it. He can feel the way his stomach turns over when he sees him. He can feel his face get a million times warmer when he dances. He can feel his heart melting when he sees him smile.
He feels the drop when he’s about to confess; feels the crash when Minho cuts him off, laughs and tells him that he’s with Nichkhun hyung.
Onew stands still and so does time. He then laughs, says, ‘That’s great, I’m happy for you!’
Minho’s face lights up; his smile is bright and he bounds over to Onew, hugs him and leaves. Onew can barely see him leaving the room, his footsteps booming in Onew’s skull.
In Onew’s head, he can hear his brain screaming, ‘Don’t you get it, I love you Minho, I love you...’ He crumbles in a heap in the middle of the room and cries, clutching at his shirt; his broken heart.
Onew has never been the best at lying. But the next day, he puts on his smile and pretends nothing ever happened.
