Shy Boy (1/?)

Slice. Drizzle. Add a fruit of your choice.

Jongin met Kyungsoo on a Friday morning during late fall. It was one of the last sunny days Seoul would be seeing for several months and the shop was quiet while the majority of the population bustled around outside.

Jongin was opening and closing the shop that night so my default he had to work on the whole day, but that only meant a long weekend for him, which he would enjoy by eating ramen and watching movies with Junmyeon. That in itself was a dream weekend.

So rather than being his quiet reserved self he was a little more outgoing; he smiled at customers and actually tried to make conversation with a few people. He was doing a great job by the time Kyungsoo walked in.

He had just finished a group of young girls order when the wide eyed Kyungsoo stepped forward.

“Hello, welcome to Naeun’s cheesecake shop, how may I-” It was at that moment that Jongin looked up, and in that moment he instantly lost his ability to speak properly.

Kyungsoo wasn’t looking at him, but instead at the menu plastered on the wall behind Jongin, which was a good thing because had he been looking at Jongin he would have seen the most embarrassing moment of Jongin’s life unfold before him.
Jongin’s throat went dry and his heartbeat began to pick up, because damn whoever the boy in front of him was, he was utterly stunning.

His eyes were the perfect shape, and his orbs shone brightly as he scanned over the menu. His face was flawless, it was the perfect creamy color of his skin which made Jongin want to reach out and touch his face. His lips were something Jongin could only ever dream of kissing and he found himself becoming more and more entranced by the stranger standing before him.

That was until said stranger turned his attention to him.

“What’s good?”

God his voice sounded silky smooth and just perfect.

“Everything.” Jongin didn’t realize how stupid he sounded until the answer was already out of his mouth.

Kyungsoo looked slightly shocked, but then after a moment he smiled, obviously thinking Jongin was just being cheeky.

“Well what do you recommend?” he asked, running his small digits through his soft hair as he looked over the desserts behind the glass counter.

“Everything,” Jongin answered, and in all honesty he did recommend everything. Naeun did excellent work and everything tasted fantastic.

Kyungsoo tutted, looking at the choices and then back at Jongin.
“How about you decide for me?”

Jongin froze, the smirk the other was wearing made him feel nervous and he wasn’t sure how to react, “I don’t know what you l-like.”

Kyungsoo’s eyes twinkled and he leaned across the counter as if he was going to tell Jongin a secret, and lowered his voice before saying, “Everything.”
Jongin knew he was blushing and he quickly ducked his head as if to hide his embarrassment before mumbling, “Go find a sit and I’ll bring it to you.”

“How am I supposed to pay for it then?”

“Let me worry about the cost,” Jongin answered, hoping that the flirting he was doing wasn’t a complete turn off for the pretty man in front of him.

Much to his surprise-and delight, the other didn’t look disgusted and rather than insisting on paying, his lips curved into an adorable heart shaped smile.

“Well thank you-” Kyungsoo quickly glanced down at the nametag on Jongin’s shirt. “-Jongin. I’ll just be sitting over there.”

And with that the gorgeous boy who made Jongin weak in the knees walked away towards an isolated corner in the shop. Waiting patiently for Jongin to bring him the wondrous dessert that would hopefully encourage him to come back again.

Jongin let out a relieved breath he had been holding in and quickly turned to find Sehun, one of his few friends and coworker.

He found him in the back lazing around on his phone, the dishes he had finished cleaning stacked up to his left.

“Sehun can you cover the counter for a minute? I have to attend to one of the customers at the moment.”

“I thought that was Chanyeol’s job-oh wait is Baekhyun here? If he is then Chanyeol is definitely slacking off.”

“No Chanyeol isn’t slacking off,” Jongin said, dismissing the idea with a wave of his hand. “This customer just wants to see me in particular.”

“A costumer wants to see you?” The look Sehun was giving him was doubtful, which kind of hurt, but Jongin couldn’t blame him since he wasn’t usually willing to speak to strangers.

Jongin nodded, his dark hair bouncy in time with his bobs.

Sehun sighed, shoving his phone in his pocket before pushing open the doors that led back into the main part of the shop.

Kyungsoo was still sitting in the corner of the room, but his wandering eyes had migrated to his phone screen and he looked as if he was texting someone.

Jongin sincerely hoped that he hadn’t flirted with someone who was already taken, but with his luck that was probably the case.

Sehun took Jongin’s signature spot at the cash register and started to help an elder couple who just walked in while Jongin quickly scanned through the glass container for the perfect piece.

He decided since he didn’t know much about this spontaneous customer he would go with something simple. He selected a regular piece of cheesecake topped with deliciously fresh raspberries. He smiled slightly to himself as he shyly made his way over to the young man.

Kyungsoo had just sent a message to his mother when a plate was set down in front of him, signifying that the cute cashier from earlier had finally come to a decision.

“I hope you enjoy it,” Jongin half-smiled, thinking he had interrupted Kyungsoo from his message as he quickly bowed and turned to walk away.

“Wait!”

Jongin stopped in his tracks and turned back, surprised to find that the young man had gotten to his feet and was now within a foot distance of him.

“I’m Kyungsoo.”

In the next moment Kyungsoo leaned over and slipped a small piece of paper into his hand before back stepping towards the door.

“Call me sometime.”

And in a blink of an eye, he was gone.
