About A Boy [JongTae, 4/?]

Apr 20, 2014 02:21

Fandom: SHINee
Pairing: Jonghyun/Taemin
Words: 3,200
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Time feels flimsy and skewed and slow, so when the boy lifts his head and stares at him with an unreadable expression, Jonghyun doesn’t feel embarrassed, doesn’t realize he’s been staring a few minutes too long. There’s something sad about the boy. The slant of his eyes, the chewed bottom lip, the prominence of his collarbones; Jonghyun can’t place it but looking at him makes a knot tie up in his stomach, has him wondering where melancholy comes from.

( previous chapter)

On Friday, Jonghyun wakes up with the intense need to call Taemin and ask him how last night went. Usually his curiosity gets the better of him, but this time he manages to rein it in, tells himself that there’s no need to make the kid feel suffocated or pressured to report to him as if Jonghyun is his keeper.

Of course there’s the option of calling Kibum and asking him about it instead, but that feels a bit like cheating, so he ignores the impulse. He resolves to go around to the bar near closing time like they sometimes do with Jinki. It’s both reasonable and non-stalkerish, he figures.
