Summary: Key is sick and Jonghyun did not even know about it until it was too late.
Key was wondering around Jonghyun’s house alone. He wanted to meet Jonghyun to say something that had been a burden to his heart. But he was not brave enough to just go and knock the door. He just sat down on the stairs in front of Jonghyun’s house.
“I should say this. Or no. Should I?”
Key was totally confused until suddenly he stood up and went towards the door. When he was just about to knock the door, Jonghyun opened the door.
“Oh. Huh? Why are you here? You’ve missed me already after not meeting me for one week? Haha” Jonghyun teased his boyfriend jokingly.
Key scratched his head. Embarassed. He nodded slightly.
“Haha. I knew it. But I’m going to school now.”
“Oh it’s okay then. Forget about me. Haha.” Said Key sheepishly.
Jonghyun shook his head.
“Nah. I wont do that to you, babe. I’m not that mean. Haha.. Want to go with me now? I want to just absent from school. School is just too boring these days. “
Key did not answer. He wanted to talk to Jonghyun badly but he did not know whether that day was the right time or not.
At that time Jonghyun pulled Key’s arm.
“Let’s go now. Dont waste time just like what you always say.” Jonghyun smiled to Key to ensure that.
Jonghyun pulled Key towards the mall where they always hung out together. Key followed him behind obediently. They shop for things just like usual but this time, it was not Key who was more excited but Jonghyun.
After awhile, Jonghyun just realised that Key was not even smiling in doing his hobby. Shopping.
'What happened to him? So weird.'
He patted Key’s shoulder when he was daydreaming. Key was quite surprised.
“Huh?”
“Hey, what happened to you?”
“Nah. Haha. I was just daydreaming like usual.”
“No. You were not. Just tell me if you have something that bother you.”
Key shook his head and smiled, “No. I’m okay. Mmmm, where were we just now?”
Jonghyun frowned. “Where were we?”
“We were talking about something right?” asked Key.
“Just talk to me Key. I know something has happened. We were not talking. We were just walking and you were daydreaming.”
Key was shocked. He became awkward for awhile after that. He still smile.
“Nothing. Let’s go. I’m hungry.” He changed the topic suddenly and pulled Jonghyun into his favourite restaurant. Jonghyun did not know what to do and just followed Key.
Once they were inside, Key happily ordered some food that he liked a lot but Jonghyun just looked at Key’s face. He tried to observe the guy’s heart and mind. Even during the meal, Jonghyun did not say anything and just ate his meal silently while his eyes were still looking at Key’s face only.
Even until they had finished their meal, the situation was still full of silence. Jonghyun had tried to be calmer and acted as if nothing happened and he just naturally grabbed Key’s hand.
“Aaaanndd... Where do you want to go?”
“Up to you.” Key smiled.
“Then. Let’s just walk towards where our legs will bring us.” Jonghyun replied the smile.
They continued walking towards the ice skating ring. Jonghyun looked towards Key.
“Do you want to do this?”
Key looked a little bit troubled but he nodded anyway.
“Cool. Let’s go in.” Said Jonghyun brightly.

“Wooaaahhh it’s soo fun. Right key?”
When Jonghyun turned his head towards Key, Key was holding tightly at the side poles. He looked really pale.
“Hey. Key. What happened?”
Jonghyun ran towards Key but suddenly Key fainted. Key’s body was extremely cold and Jonghyun started panicking. He shook Key’s body vigorously. But there was no response. He lifted Key and brought him out. He called an ambulance and ran towards it once it came to the place. He got into the ambulance with Key and the nurses started doing anything that they could do for first measures. Key showed a little bit of his hand movement and suddenly he coughed up blood. Jonghyun was surprised that he tightened his hold onto Key’s hand. “Be strong, please.”
When they reached the hospital, they were directed to the emergency room where Jonghyun waited outside with tears on his eyes. Something was just not right. Out of curiosity, he opened Key’s bag. He found a book. A pink book. He knew that it was Key’s diary that he used to bring with him. Jonghyun was curious about it but he decided not to open it.
Suddenly there was a doctor who approached Jonghyun.
“Sorry, are you Key’s relative?”
“Yeah. How is he?”
“His cirrhosis is getting worse. “
Jonghyun did not really get what the doctor said. “Cirrhosis?”
“Yes. It is a consequence of chronic liver disease.”
Jonghyun still tried to digest the information that he just got when suddenly the doctor continued his sentence. “He is in a critical condition now and if he cannot get a liver transplantation, he may not survive. But until now, we still cannot find a suitable liver for him.”
“Take mine.” asked Jonghyun without hesitation.
“Ok. We can proceed for examination now.”
They proceeded for an examination. However, the result showed that his liver was not compatible to be transplanted into Key’s body.
“I’m sorry but I don’t think we can do this.”
“Why? I’m fit and I’m healthy.”
“Your blood type is not compatible with Key-ssi. It may cause another dangerous situation to the patient.”
Jonghyun sat down weakly.
“Is there any other way that can cure him, doctor?”
“Sorry but it is quite critical now and the only hope is from the liver transplant.”
“Is there really no liver transplant now at this moment, doctor?”
The doctor shook his head in silence. Jonghyun did not say anything and he just sat in the office in silence.
Suddenly, there was a nurse running into the office just to find the doctor.
“Doctor, sorry but the condition of the patient from just now is getting worse. And there is no pulse could be detected.”
The doctor ran as soon as he heard the news. Jonghyun was lost on what was happening. He looked at the doctor’s and the nurse’s backs blankly before finally he got up and ran, following them. He reached Key’s room right after the doctor went in and he could not go inside. He just waited outside the room with his heart beating faster and faster. He held Key’s pink book tightly just to calm his heart.
He approached the doctor as soon as the door was opened. The doctor did not say anything and he hung his head low.
“We are sorry. It’s too late and it’s faster than what we’ve predicted.”
Jonghyun’s jaw dropped. He shook his head in disbelief.
“No way. He was walking with me and playing with me just now. How could this possible doctor?”
The doctor walked away and patted his shoulder. Jonghyun cried his heart out. With the pink book in his hand.
"Why?"

During Key's funeral, Jonghyun could only sit beside the gravestone. He was not crying at all and he was just holding Key's picture tightly. When all the process was finally over, Jonghyun sat there alone. He started to open the book that he had found in Key's bag. Yes, the pink book.

Today I saw a guy who made my heart fluttered. Actually I stalked him after that. I found out that apparently his name was Jonghyun and his best friends were minho and jinki.
What should I do know? I think I fell for him. Ah oh my God. Love at the first sight does not even exist then why this happened to me?
Jonghyun frowned. He did not know about it. He continued reading the next pages one by one.

I saw Jonghyun just now. He was with his two best friends. It seemed that the minho guy was celebrating his birthday or something. Jonghyun was smiling all the time. And I just love that smile. Oh my. I dont even know him. What should I do? How could I even fall for him when we dont even know each other.

I went to Taemin's house celebrating new year last night and something happened there. I had never known that Taemin has a brother. And that brother, my best friend's brother is Jonghyun. What is this? Is this fate? We got to know each other last night. I feel like flying now..

These days, I've been going out with Taemin as usual but something is different now. Now, Jonghyun, Minho and Jinki often join us as well. I'm so happy. Getting to know him better. He is cooler than I think. Aww.. what should i do? I think I'm really in love now.

Oh my today I went together with him. Alone. Only two of us. Awww.. Sweet right? And you know something? He said that he likes me and he wants to be my boyfriend. And I just nodded. Aahhh... He is my boyfriend. Kim Jonghyun awww... I think I'm the happiest person in the world now.
Jonghyun's tears started to drop. That day. That was the first time he said he liked someone. And it was more than just liking but he was totally in love with that person. Jonghyun continued reading the book and one by one he read the memories that he made together with Key for the past year. The happiest time in his life. Jonghyun held back his tear while he was reading it and he could only bite his lip.
-8 April 2010-
Today I celebrated his birthday and my sickness was recurring again. It was annoying. I'm quite sad that I need to leave early just because of that sickness. That gastric problem. Oh my god. I promise that I will pay it back to Jonghyun later.
-9 April 2010-
I could not handle it anymore. I went to see a doctor and he said that I got a cirrhosis. What the heck is that? He said that it is in a serious stage already and I may only live for another two or three months depending on my luck. Should I tell Jonghyun?
Jonghyun was shocked reading that entry dated 9 April 2010.

He tried to figure it out more and keep reading the book. He found out that Key was always in pain everyday. The pain was just getting worse and worse day by day. Not only that. Sometimes he coughed up blood. The sickness that he had always thought as gastric proble was actually much more serious than that. Key was confused on how to deal with it alone but he did not want to make Jonghyun to worry about him until it was 18 May 2010 when he wanted to tell Jonghyun.

It's getting worse and worse day by day. I'm afraid that I will go soon. Should I just tell him? Or should I not? I'm afraid that if I tell him, he might just leave me. I dont want it. I love him and I really dont want to lose him.

Yes. I've decided to tell him tomorrow.
I better write out what I'm going to tell him. I feel bad for rejecting all his invitations to do everything we used to like and do together but I cannot do anymore due to all this thing.
"Jjong. Sorry. All this time I've lied to you that I have some extra lesson because of my bad grade so I could not meet you. Actually I have a health problem and the doctor said that I'm not going to live for 2 months which is like there is only a few months or weeks left for me. That's why I want to keep my health to live longer for you but I guess it happens the other way round and it may hurt you and I more as we cannot do anything we like together anymore. I promise that from now on I will just go with you like before I got sick. Doing things that we like together including playing in the ice ring together and swimming together."
I think that's enough to tell the truth. Ok now I'll practice first. Fiiiuuuhh..
Jonghyun cried. Yesterday he asked Key to go with him to play ice-skating and he did not reject as usual. He had kept his promise.
