Summary: What inspired Yuri to write "Mistake'
“Noona, it’s MinHo”
It has become a routine for Yuri to stay up until five in the morning staring at her phone’s screen intensively until the screen lights up and the sound of her phone ringing could be heard throughout the dorm. Yoona would let out a displeasure groan, throws her pillow at Yuri and occasionally say something along the line of “Can’t you talk during the day or something?”
Their conversation would normally revolve around his day, his members, his hectic schedules or he would just complain about his managers. Yuri was willing to listen to it all and so she thought.
“I think Krystal is kinda cute”
Everything but Krystal, Jessica’s sister.
“Noona? Yuri noona? Are you there?”
Yuri swallowed the big lump of displeasure before she quickly replied to him. She teased him with a bright tone and lie to herself that MinHo never mentioned Krystal in their conversation.
Day passes; the conversation was becoming less about his work and more about Jessica’s sister. Yuri would pretend that she was genuinely interested in the
topic, Yuri pretended that she wasn’t ta least bit hurt.
All her members would sometime give her a pitiful look when they see Yuri giving advice to him about Krystal over the phone. Jessica especially, but unlike the other she wouldn’t ask if Yuri was okay after all the girl is her own sister.
“Noona, Krystal said yes”
She let her phone dropped to the ground with a loud ‘bang’ as she sat there on her bed, her mind blank. The world seems to stop moving, the time seems to stop for a long second. She blinked as she felt hot liquid flowing down her cheeks; she wiped them away quickly before picking up her phone from the floor.
“I’m so happy for you, my little dongseng is growing up”
MinHo didn’t bother to ask Yuri why he heard a loud ‘bang’ or why there was a long pause before she replies. No, MinHo carelessly went on about how pretty and how talented Krystal is.
Yuri waited until five in the morning the next day, then she waited until six the next day, then seven the next but MinHo never calls, he doesn’t even bother to leave her a simple text message like he used to.
So while she stays up every day waiting for him to call, Yuri would pick up her pen and pour her feelings into her lyrics. Hoping that he would call by the time she finishes this piece but Yuri knew it was just another mistake that she was making.
