I have discovered My Immortal.

My god, my eyes... it's so good. Seriously, I nearly peed my pants just reading the TV tropes page.

So I've spent most of my Saturday reading badfic*. Hopefully everyone else's day was more profitable.

Oooh, thank you. I could always use a kick in the butt. I've read about a 1/4 of it, but that's without my metaphorical red pen in hand.

Yes, I ONLY NOW just found it. My life is so sad an empty. I listened to a dramatic reading, because I couldn't stand to read through the misspellings myself. Even though I hear they make up a lot of the charm.

House of Crows is SO GOOD. It's hundreds of thousand words long (so, basically, enough to keep you hooked till 2 AM a couple days in a row) and includes the following:

-establishes the Hatake family (canon has led us to believe that Kakashi is the last of the Hatake or something. He is so not.)
- including an original character who is so, so win
- succesfully forms suspenseful plot threads including: a who's-the-daddy? mystery (that's actually really, really good), poisoning scares, a spoiled rapist, a very, very long charade, a troubled/emprisoned/badass Sakura, and talking kitty-cats
- amazingly loveable OCs
- another tailed beast
- a badass Sasuke (really - A BADASS SASUKE) and Sasuke/Sakura that actually really, really worked for me
- good smut
- an epic war
- Yamato/Ino. And you will like it.

If you find yourself tempted to read My Immortal... you might want to flip a coin between that and this. ;)
