Survey 2 - Date: 07/11/08
1. WHAT IS THE FURTHEST PLACE YOU HAVE EVER TRAVELED?
Last summer I traveled to Mecca. It wasn't for Hajj, just the experience and understanding.
2. HOW DO YOU RELAX?
Reading is my getaway.
3. IF YOU COULD TURN BACK TIME, WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE?
If you could go back and just change on thing about your life, would you? And if you did, would that change make your life better? Or would that change ultimately break your heart? Or the heart of another? Would you choose an entirely different path? Or would you change just one thing? Just one moment. One moment that you've alway wanted back?
4. ARE YOU SUPERSTITIOUS?
I don't believe in wives' tales.
5. WHAT ARE YOU ADDICTED TO?
Coffee, coffee, and coffee.
6. ARE YOU SHY AROUND THE OPPOSITE SEX?
I'm not shy at all.
7. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DIE?
Heaven's not a place that you go when you die. It's that moment in life when you die. It's that moment in life when you actually feel alive. From Thoreau's thoughts to Darwin's brillance, death is only another page in the faded book.
8. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
Arrogant, yet unyielding.
9. WHAT WOULD YOU WANT YOUR FRIENDS TO REMEMBER ABOUT YOU?
Change ruled my life. I crave it. If something stayed the same for too long, I often got restless. In just one year I had already gone through two different cars, seven friends, three computer, four cell phones, and twelve flings. Just the thought of permanence gave me a migraine. In my mind, with stability came maturity and with maturity cam responsibility. The last thing I wanted to be was responsible.
10. NAME ONE PERSON YOU WOULD DIE FOR NO MATTER WHAT.
My life is like a battle that I'll never win. I embrace it with everything I got, but eventaully the wick will burn out.
11. ARE YOU SINGLE OR DATING AND IF SINGLE DO YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON SOMEONE?
I'm single. Cinderella walked on broken glass. Sleeping Beauty let a whole lifetime pass. Belle fell in love with a hideous beast. Pocahontas risked her life all for a feast. It was all about blood, sweat, and tears. Love is about facing your biggest fears.
12. WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO BE ALONE?
My mind is the greatest escape.
13. DO YOU HAVE A FUNCTIONAL FAMILY?
Only the scares can tell how much a person been through, but only the words can tell that they are still alive.
14. WHAT IS THE BEST ACCOMPLISHMENT YOU HAVE ACHIEVED SO FAR?
It's great that you can listen and be a shoulder to someone. But what about when someone doesn't need a shoulder. What if they need the arms or something like that? You can't just sit there and put everybody's lives ahead of yours and think that counts as love. You just can't.
15. DO YOU SEE THE GLASS HALF-EMPTY OR HALF-FULL?
We spend our whole lives telling ourselves everything happens for a reason, when in reality, it's just that we give reasons for everything that happens.
16. HAVE YOU EVER TOLD SOMEONE YOU HATED THEM?
Practice makes perfect :)
17. NAME ONE PERSON YOU WANT TO SEE RIGHT NOW.
True friendship isn't about being there when it's convenient; it's about being there when it's not.
18. WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND?
After careful consideration and many sleepless nights, here's what I've decided. There's no such thing as a grown up. We move on, we move out, we move away from our families and form our own. But the basic insecruities, the basic fears and all those old wounds just grow up with us. We get bigger, we get taller, we get older. But, for the most part, we're still a bunch of kids, running around the playground, trying desperately to fit in.
19. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?
Knowledge. I can't get enough of it.
20. IF YOU COULD BE AN ANIMAL, WHICH ONE? WHY?
Make me a bird so I can see new colors. Make me a dolphin so I can float and have fun. Make me a sloth so I can live luxuriously. Make me a monkey so I can see the horizon upside down.
21. WOULD YOU CHOOSE TO BE VERY RICH OR FIND YOUR TRUE LOVE?
Money leads to greed, but love leads to grief.
22. WHAT HURTS THE MOST: PHYSICAL OR EMOTIONAL PAIN?
Your silence; it's suffocating. But your words may be worse.
23. WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A HEARTBREAKER/PLAYER?
People are gonna disappoint you. I get that - I accept that. But what if you wake up one morning, and realize that you're the disappointment?
24. IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON AN ISLAND, WHAT THREE THINGS BESIDES FOOD AND WATER WOULD YOU BRING?
It's starting to look like a story where the author got sick of happy endings.
25. DO YOU TRUST PEOPLE EASILY?
Dealing with backstabbers, there is one thing I learned. They're only powerful when your back is turned.
26. DO YOU COLLECT ANYTHING? IF SO, WHAT?
I collect books. I keep them in a library at home and a safe in my mind.
27. DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF TOLERANT OF OTHERS?
Life is too short to waste a single second with anyone who doesn't value you.
28. ARE YOU PASSIVE OR AGGRESSIVE?
In life, we are taught that there are seven deadly sins. We all know the big ones...gluttony, pride, lust. But the thing you don't hear much about is anger. Maybe it's because we think anger is not that dangerous, that you can control it. My point is, maybe we don't give anger enough credit. Maybe it can be a lot more dangerous than we think. After all, when it comes to destructive behaviour, it did make the top seven. So what makes anger different from the six other deadly sins? It's pretty simple, really, you give in to a sin like envy or pride and you only hurt yourself. Try lust or coveting and you'll only hurt yourself and one or two other people. But anger, anger is the worst...the mother of all sins...not only can anger drive you over the edge, when it does you can take awful lot of people with you.
29. CHOOSE A STEROTYPE THAT BEST DESCRIBES YOU,
To label me a hypocrite would only scratch the surface of who I've been known to be.
30. IN THE OPPOSITE SEX, WOULD YOU RATHER THEM BE INDEPENDENT OR DEPENDENT?
Why weren't people born with wings? Then they could get about without the help that can only go so far.
31. CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET?
Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. If we could just remember this, I think there would be a lot more compassion and tolerance in the world.
32. WHAT WAS THE WORST TROUBLE YOU HAVE GOTTEN YOURSELF INTO?
Everyone makes mistakes. The trick is to make them when nobody is looking.
33. WHAT TWO WORDS BEST DESCRIBE YOU?
To a stranger: odd.
To a friend: brilliant.
34. WHAT TURNS YOU ON? OFF?
We wonder why black and white photos capture our soul. I think it's because without color, we aren't drawn to make-up or the color of our eyes, or our hair, or how tan our skin is. Balck and white captures the innocence on one's face and their vulnerability. The glow comes from inside, brightening our eyes, our skins, and our smile. It grabs the truth that liberates us.
35. IF YOU WERE CHEATED ON, WOULD YOU GIVE THAT PERSON A SECOND CHANCE?
Wounded people are dangerous. They know they can survive.
36. WHAT IS SOMETHING WEIRD ABOUT YOURSELF?
So here I sit looking at the traffic lights. The red extinguishes the hope that the green ignites. I want to run away. I want to run free. I want to ditch my life because all of my mistakes keep me awake at night. The yellow warning shines brighter at night.
37. WHAT NOISE CAN YOU NOT STAND?
Hopelessness.
38. IF YOU WERE IN A FIGHT, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR WEAPON OF CHOICE?
My mind holds the better mechanism.
39. WOULD YOU SELL YOUR SOUL IF YOU COULD OBTAIN THE THING YOU MOST DESIRE?
It is the unknown we fear. When we look upon death and darkness, nothing more. Blindly following the cursive into the darkness, the path thinning at every dotted 'i' and watching your step at every crossed 't'. You'll never see the stars if you're always looking down.
40. WHAT WOULD YOU WANT YOUR LAST DYING WORDS TO BE?
Thanks tothose who hated me, you made me a stronger person.
Thanks to those who loved me, you made my heart grow fonder.
Thanks to those who envied me, you made my self-esteem grow stronger.
Thanks to those who cared, you made my feel important.
Thanks to those who entered my life, you made my who I am today.
Thanks to those who left me, you showed me nothing lasts forever.
Thanks to those who stayed, you showed me the true meaning of friendship.
