Ok so I know some of you play World of Warcraft out there... or did at one point. Consider this a general cry out for some assistance.
You see I have a
Druid named
Rudiger (yes BL inspired name and I swear he is doing the mountain of a man justice by being a
Tauren) who belongs to a team of Horde side players specifically for doing
instance runs

just because a class has the ability to heal, doesn't mean they should. You should talk with your party members and decide who has the best ability to tank, who has the best abililty to heal, DPS, etc and then assign roles. you can always off-tank or off-heal when the going gets rough, but if you focus in one area, you're going to be a lot better off as a group.
Druids have the benefit of being amazing at whatever they do (i have a 32 druid and the only reason i'm not playing him is because i got a semi-steady group with my hunter). so really, sit back, let everyone else pick their roles, and then fill in whatever's left and do it better then anyone else could. besides, when they end up sucking you can always change form and show them how it's done.
also: hunter pet = not a (good) tank. yes they can do it a bit since the update, but you're going to end up with a dead hunter pet or worse, a hunter focusing on keeping his pet alive and tanking instead of DPS/mob control.

The only worry I have is that our designated tank isn't used to playing a tanking class so I will have to switch into sub-tank if things go wrong. Also half the group is shammy happy so I'll probably be last resort tanking at all but by then we've run through all of the healers in the party.
thank you though for the suggestion. I think I will try and focus on being Resto until they need me for all the time tanking.
