Shin's son

I think Shin does not know or he would have been picturing a little child along with Reira.
If they were together he wouldn't have such a longing look.
It has been suggested that since the little boy looks the same age as Takumi's daughter, and if they are in the same time line, Reira would be pregnant right now but not know it, like Hachi didn't know she was pregnant until she threw up.
Trapnest still seems to be together. Takumi would not be so busy if he had no one to manage. Reira was still singing and from the looks of it rehearsing. She was not calling the boy Ren, she was complimenting Ren on the song. She has talked about how brilliant Ren's work is before.
Which means Ren is still making songs for them. And if all of this is true there is no way Hachi would be so easy going if she knew about Reira and Takumi. It has also been suggested that the brother Hachi is talking about is the child Takumi had with that girl in his school who didn't have money for an abortion. I think Reira was not thinking clearly when she kissed Takumi. She never resolved her feelings for Shin. She said she will not see him again, but she has said that before and still tried to see him.
Her face looks like she is in pain whenever she mentions Shin. So it makes sense that since she hates being lonely and can't see Shin, she threw caution to the wind and went after Takumi. If that little boy we saw is her child then there is no way she is ever going to forget about Shin. In fact I think she looks so happy because he is filling that emptiness by being with her, looking like Shin, playing like Shin, and even acting like Shin.
I heard so many people say the kid was Takumi's or Ren's. So I went back through the manga to see if the boy really looked like Shin or if it was wishful thinking. Now I really doubt Takumi or Ren had anything to do with making that kid! But you can look at the pictures and compare for yourself! Click on the link below then click the image to make it bigger.

Oh I definitely think the kid is Shin's and that scan just really proves it. I hadn't noticed they sit the same way when playing, but everything else had really crossed my mind.
I think she was calling the boy Ren, and complimenting him on the song, since he was playing. I also think she might have just been singing along to the song that her son was playing. Takumi could be managing someone else, it's been shown that he's influential enough in his own company that Cookie Entertainment could have been turned over to him, and that is why he's so busy.
I also look back to Nobu and Hachi's conversation in Nana's room, and they seem to be referring to Trapnest in the bast. Trapnest is also referred to in the past when they mention that no single has ever beaten the sales of Trapnest's Trust and Blast's first single.
I agree though that Reira was not thinking clearly at all when she kissed Takumi. Her mission throughout the whole manga is to get Takumi's approval and attention, but no matter what she does he never approves, so she finally decides to do something that she hopes will get his attention. I think if Takumi had just left it at "You are more special to me than anyone else" Reira would have been happy and nothing would gone further, but since Takumi suggested the idea that she be one of his lovers, she assumes that that is also something she needs to do to get his approval, and thus accepts.
And I thought that Takumi's "illegitimate child" was just a rumour. But then again I forget who mentioned it.

Nope the illegitimate child is the real deal. In the newest side story Takumi is shown as a playboy at a very young age. And he was sleeping around with a lot of different girls back then. As far as we know only one of them got pregnant.

Was that Naoki's side story? Or was that Takumi's own side story? Either way I'm going to have reread it. However I don't think Hachi would be referring to Takumi's illegitimate child as Satsuki's brother. I'm sure Takumi keeps the other woman well compensated for keeping quiet and not disrupting his "media" persona.
You are right, I didn't think about Takumi managing someone else. I just saw it as Trapnest and Reira being his everything and him not wanting anything else. I also thought that way because I have seen groups who are still around but play their songs from the beginning as oldies. I also thought they were still together because I didn't see the final curtain call of the group like Blast. All of the remaining members of blast were going after different jobs, while all the members of Trapnest still seem to be in the music industry.

That's true. Though I'm not sure if Ren is still in the music industry. I thought he was just kinda drifting around, but now that you mentioned it, I think there might have been mention of him composing new songs, so he could be.
Also when it's revealed that Reira's pregnant that'll probably halt Trapnest for a while, or they might just dissolve quietly. Because if not then someone would have gone "Oh No! Reira's pregnant!" And I think Shin would have heard news mentioned by someone off handedly and he would have gotten worried, and probably would have jumped to the conclusion that it could be his. So unless Reira ends up lying to him when/if he confronts her about it, Shin would know about his son. And if she lied, well that would be terrible and wrong and explain Shin's pain when thinking about her even more.
