The round-table discussion with endless stories about memories of Ninomiya-sensei and the clumsy club members is starts now!
Ninomiya: When the competition scenes started, going along with the story, I thought I had to actually struggle in the filming set together with everyone. Like, if there’s no connection between everyone, something that can’t be filmed will come out. It was hot, we got wet in the rain, it was difficult but everyone is moving towards the same goal and facing the same direction… I think it was a good filming site. I think everyone really did their best in these three months.
Yamazaki: Nino-saa~n (cries)
Nakajima: In particular, the scene where Aoshi-sensei talks to the clumsy kids that lost to Dougaku (Doutou Gakuin) was incredible.
Akutsu: Ninomiya-san was different from the rehearsal!
Ninomiya: Huh? Different!?
Akutsu: It was totally different~
Mamiya: When we did the actual take, the moment Aoshi-sensei started talking, the atmosphere changed.

Yanagi: In that scene, Nino-san totally made me cry from the bottom of heart.

Ninomiya: That line “Next time you will surely win”, it was at the point where Aoshi himself will stop moving forward with the people in the baseball club, including Riko-san (Aso Kumiko) too. After this, another different form of the baseball club will be formed. It’s a strong scene with that kind of implication.
Fukushi: That’s right…
Ninomiya: Well, if it’s this kind of scene, the atmosphere will change, right? I didn’t do much, but in order to see everyone’s face, I was trembling.
Do the feelings of Aoshi-sensei overlap with Ninomiya-san’s own feelings from now on for the young actors who struggled with him?
Ninomiya: Of course, there’s also the feeling that I want them to do their best in their next filming site, but I don’t bring that into the drama. Because if I do that, it will no longer be a drama, and the sense of responsibility for making one film will become weakened. Because it’s not about making memories.
Yanagi: …that’s right. I have a lot of memories about Nino-san, but the most important thing I learned from him is acting.
