[Kaleidoscope revision] Colours | 1. Angles of Perception

I've started posting the revision of Colours, the first "book" of Kaleidoscope, at FanFiction.net; the first chapter is up now. Each week as a chapter goes up, I'll be archiving the revision on LJ, too. Squee!!!! It's been a bad couple of weeks around here, and this was a great pick me up! thanks for posting and I look forward to new installments! Glad to see the flist a bit active again!

Aw, thanks. I can't help imagining Remus (happy and secure in his Hogwarts life, the Snape prank notwithstanding) feeling a little sorry for an unhappy toddler. ;)

Hi! Stereolightning pointed me to this as a great how-Remus-and-Tonks-first-met story; I arrived to find that I had indeed read it back in the day (under its old name), back when I was reading a bunch of Remus/Tonks, but too shy in fandom to leave comments...

So this time around I want to tell you how much I like this!

Your character interactions are so natural, your Tonks so cheerful and just very much herself. I also think you do a great job of incorporating those little Tonks-is-clumsy bits but without overdoing it; and how much do I LOVE the way Tonks falls for Remus when he smiles, how that smile transforms him?

And Remus asking Tonks to plan a prank on Sirius with him is just perfect - sets up the relationship between all three of them delightfully, and shows a Remus who's still got his sense of humor intact, which seems to me a very important part of his character!

Thanks so much! The details you've picked out make me very happy. Tonks can't be completely clumsy, because she did make Auror, heh. I wanted her to see something special about Remus right away, and his smile seemed like the thing.

I agree that Remus's sense of humor is a key part of his personality. I imagine it gets harder for him to hold onto that in HBP, but at least in OotP he's probably having a pretty happy year, all things considered (and Voldemort notwithstanding).
