HAPPY 1 YEAR NAPPYVERSARY TO ME!!!!!
It's been exactly one year, as of April 23, that I did the big chop. I doesn't feel like it's been that long. We've come a long way from the afro shock and texturizer of day one. I didn't get my hair anything today (target was sorely lacking in the hair accessory department - they need to do some serious restocking, oddly enough Giant grocery store has some REALLY nice Goody barretts and such...as i digress lol), but as I posted previously, last week I bought a bunch of new products so I can do the next year up the right way. My hair hasn't grown as much as I'd like. Probably mostly due to lack of proper care, wash and go without any moisture is did not do the trick, and it led to horrindous split ends. When I was relaxed and cut my hair approxamtely the same shortness, it was down to my shoulders the following year. When I pull my hair taught, it's not quite there yet but that's okay. Thanks to my new routine my hair is soft and moist and my little shrunken twists even bounce as I move my head. No more comb fulls of tangled hair, no more scraggely brittle ends. And even better, no more worrying about how the heck I'm gonna afford to pay my stylist so I can get a relaxer.
Speaking of which, I saw my old stylist Carla, Friday while shopping in Gadzooks. She was like "heyyy." And I had that "do I know this person" "who is calling me" look until I realized who she was. I was suprised she remembered me, even though she had shopped in my department since I cut my hair. I guess I always see myself as an unmemorable person. Mostly because people never remember my name. But that is my fault, and a whole nother story. But it's also not like I have a common name either. Coincidentally one of her young daughters and I have a similar, if not the same, name.
Ok and on another note.... Is anyone else as freaked out as me by those new Volkswagen commercials. The first time I saw one with the "like" guys, my mouth dropped when they got hit. I was like "what the fahey just happened?!"
Alright I'm done makin lunch for tomorrow, who cooks at 1am? Me. I'm on a strict budget. And REFUSE to buy any food from the mall tomorrow. Done cleaning the carpet by the front door, I'm gonna do one section of the apartment each day so I can come home to a nice clean crib. And now I must play 1, and only 1, game of Sudoku before bed.
And before I forget... the lovely skinny leg Luella jeans I got today at Target. Yes I deviated from my original budget which is why I'm on an even stricter one after this purchase. I could do without the ruffle. Maybe someday i can have the ruffle removed? The jeans fit me fabulously. They are tiiight but I decided not to buy my usual size because I always do that and end up with jeans that are baggy in the butt and thigh from stretching with wear. Still not sure if I'll keep them, and I can't tell how flattering they are on my behind. They aren't exactly the most grown up looking things but I guess I can live with that. Especially for $27. My wallet just won't let me pay hundreds for skinny jeans, at least not at this point in my life...Opinions??
Is she naked... or isn't she lol? Ohhh I feel so selacious posting pictures of the small of my back, shhh don't tell. Haha I have one lone chicken pox scare on my entire body.
Okay, no more shopping until I go home. I can do it!
