This city was the blueprint for hell.

Sunday: I wrote the bulk of my journalist profile on Abigail during the day. Went to Sam's around 3. Missed our train to the city, caught the 4:02, failed at buying a coat, met Jen at McDonald's, went to TREOS and New Found Glory. Times Square was an absolute zoo.

TREOS played: Planning a Prison Break, Smoke and Mirrors, Saturnus, The Evidence, Stay Small, and The War of All Against All. Maybe not in that order. They were good. We told Brendan they should have played Broadcast Quality and he agreed. I don't know why I never talked to him before I moved to New York. He's been such a nice dude every time I've seen him since. And he remembers everything. We talked about second-hand smoking and how I moved here to go to school and my major and he asked me if I was a witch since I'm from Salem. NOT FUNNY. Later, B-South leaked some details on upcoming tours (the Living Room in December with Therefore I Am and As Tall As Lions?! More to come in February?!). Stoked. Also, their merchie Shane is utterly fantastic and I want to keep him.

We also said hi to Steve Klein (!!!). Nobody else even noticed him and we didn’t even have anything to say to him, but it was surreal because I really was 14 again for about 10 seconds. Honestly I wasn’t expecting to see anyone in the band and I was unprepared. I also saw Chad walking around but wouldn't talk to him either. New Found Glory are far too legendary in my book for words.

And they were excellent. I don’t know what can really be said. I wish they had played Dressed to Kill or Sucker or 2’s and 3’s, though. OR THE GLORY OF LOVE. Granted they played the Bob Dylan cover and Iris and Kiss Me and Stay (and Lisa Loeb came out and sang!!) They played Ballad For the Lost Romantics because someone made a sign and they said they have to play a song when someone makes a sign for it, so next time, Sam and I are making a 2’s and 3’s sign. I also wish they would end their set with something other than My Friends Over You. But enough complaining. Some of the songs included but are not limited to (because my memory is bad): Forget My Name, Head On Collision, Coming Home, It’s Not Your Fault, Hit or Miss, Better Off Dead, Understatement, Intro, All Downhill From Here, Failure’s Not Flattering.

Yesterday I had a terribly rough day. I had about three hours of sleep, went to my 8 a.m. class, came back and slept all the way through my 10 a.m. class AND my adviser meeting. I don't really know what else I even did besides sleep and work. Gross.

And today, too. Totally awful. I went to my AVF class and took a pretty easy midterm, went to my American politics class and more than likely bombed a test. Got lunch and went to Starbucks with Sabriana, wrote ideas on napkins, Sidekicked, sipped a hot chocolate, and made eyes with some random boy for 20 minutes while she interviewed a local politician, and then shopped my depression away at H&M and some other places with her. I came back, played dress-up with my new clothes, worked on a project for three hours... And now my reward is sitting on the internet cursing the slowness of the hours going by. Yeah.
