1. Mi-Sex, "It Only Hurts When I'm Laughing" (I've been totally into this song since at least 2000)
2. There is really only one thing I look for in music--and it's something that ties together all the different types of music that I love: it has to feature a solid, interesting soundscape. This could mean either a lush, complex arrangement or a stripped-down acoustic guitar melody--it doesn't matter, as long as the sonic structure of the song is interesting and memorable in some fashion.
1. Lately I've been stuck on "Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's. I'm sure it's the anthem of all the little emo girls out there, but since I'm blessedly removed from the context of American pop culture I quite enjoy it because it's such a simple, sweet, heartfelt song.
2. My taste in music changes with my mood. Sometimes I like a more relaxed tune, sometimes I just want something with a good driving beat to weave my scooter through traffic to. I suppose the biggest thing that I look for in music is soul, does it seem like the performer is actually feeling the music? If they're not, how can I be expected to?
1. I have been hung up on the Knife for a good few months now, and lately it has been their live version of Heartbeats that i discovered.
2. My musical needs change depending on my mood and the genre in question. Music is like a significant other... sometimes it just reaches out and grabs you by the nether regions.
