korraaaaaaaaa

Blech. Kids are GERM FACTORIES. And I am not enjoying it. :/

- - -

So, Korra Book 2.

- Disappointed that the inequality plot from the first season has been dropped like a hot potato. (Except possibly with Bumi????? IDEK)

- ASAMI BB <33333333

- As much as I like them both, I hope the show doesn't end up Asami/Bolin. because... meh. But considering how terrible the romance is in this franchise I'm expecting the worst. :P

- This seems to be a season about brotherly strife and familial dysfunction -- perhaps carrying over from the first season. I LIKE this (especially the hints they've been dropping about Aang's parenting), but can't help but wish we had some sisters (Jinora and Ikki are too young) in the mix... And that Unalaq didn't feel like Tarrlok all over again. (Speaking as someone who actually LIKED Tarrlok.) I hope the show allows more gray than they did in Book 1, and that Unalaq does not, in fact, turn out to be a villain. Because man, at this point, that's just old.

- And um, Katara??? She seems to be pretty hands off. In more ways than one. Which has all sorts of interesting implications. Not sure how I feel.

- I really dig the idea of Korra attempting to handle complicated politics she is in no way ready to even attempt -- politics that really hits home for her in a way the first season's politics didn't quite -- but the convenient/simplistic way the first season played out has left a bad aftertaste and I'm not sure this will be done well at all.

- Jinora!?!!!

- As usual, the show's really at its strongest when depicting troubled but nonetheless loving child + mentor/parental figure relationships. (frex Zuko/Iroh in the original series.)

But ahem, KATARA??????

Am feeling too sick/gross to say much more.
