I've been enjoying what little I have of Ryoma-den (ahahahaha sooooo behind), so it shouldn't be bad (same director). From what I've seen it looks like this is going to be a series of movies (presumably if this first one is successful). Original stories? They've cast a Megumi but no Aoshi, so presumably this is between the Tokyo and Kyoto arcs. (Then again, they haven't revealed any villain casting yet which made me wonder for a moment if they were planning to set up Sano as the bad guy in this first movie, i.e. pre-Tokyo arc.)
(I think it's hilarious also that Sano and Kenshin's actors' ages are more or less reversed.)
Hm. I really wonder what they are up to, between the live action movie and the anime adaptation. They've clearly got something up their sleeves... They may be thinking further ahead than I thought.
