This weekend I went to a trauma conference in London. It was absolutely ace, although very hard work - five lectures in the morning, followed by four practical sessions on both days. We learned to do cool stuff like venous cuts downs and chest drains!

Probably the best thing was getting to hear from some of the guys who helped coordinate the major incident response and immediate care in the aftermath of the London Bombing. It rekindled my interest in pre-hospital care. I'd really like to work for the London helicopter ambulance (HEMS) one of these days and specialise in pre-hospital care. Actually, I just want to zoom around in a shiny jumpsuit with a blue flashing light.

There was also a real proud to be british moment. The lecturer showed this, which I hadn't seen before:
