Tassajara

I did it, I ordered my bike. Straight-up and everything I need.

Might even let the name stick:Tassajara

I am still desperately in love with the XO - but I'm not willing to buy it retail.

As I am with CycloCross - or at least I think I am, as much as I can be having not actually participated in a race - but, really, they have beer tent seating at the barriers, what's not to like? Besides, it is about as confusing and non-committal to any one cycling discipline as it gets, so much so it is its own discipline, * whistles * , nothing like me ...but I digress.

The agony of virtually spending money was really doing a number on me, so I am glad that is done with.

The Plan That Isn’t.
Paris to Ancaster started the Cross itch. It was all lust then.

Just before the Ride for Heart I birthed the FrankenBike (aka Skinny Banana - ask Ella), and have spent all summer booting around on it, bless the really bad for me size and can’t take more than 40 PSI ‘cause the tubes’ll bust the tires off the rims and its single speed 52:13 (but I can mash up Dufferin so Shhhh! It was the length of chain I had. Yes I am that cheap) eccentricities - I’m a happy camper

I found the Mountain Bike season really frustrating with schedules colliding and silliness that need not be recreated and thus my mindset was being further refined.

Come September, the School Year and in turn Running Club, and the coaching thereof; I was running and actually liking it *gasp*. With Ella’s success in the cross country running I saw a whole lot more of the same in the future.

Then came an adventure race, canoeing, running and biking. So.much.fun.

And such was the progression.

Gotta get some serious head space about the winter months training wise - thinking of which - my board meeting was canceled tonight - good time to set up the trainer. And bake, I mean clean the monster bike.

I think swimming will also be in order - the one thing about CycloCross that has me edgy is this whole spectator aspect, heavy breathing in a public forum, umya, tantamount to Karaoke in Angela Land. So yes, swimming, learn to breath, stay strong.

It will be a beautiful thing if the City re-instates Monday community centre programming so I can box again.

Come Spring, I’m all signed on as a Club Leader for the Toronto Chapter of Flygurlz - Monday Nights in the Don. Yes, a lot like last year, but this time on purpose! Exciting!

I’ll be at as many races as I can afford thru the summer but all in all aiming for the Cross season.

Not entirely sure what I’ll do about a bike yet, but it seems lately that the harder I try to have everything in order, the more time I wasted trying, ‘cause it never goes that way - ‘eye on the prize’ logic seems to be serving me much better than meticulous planning. It will happen.

There are 2 more races this season and weather dependent I’d like to get out to them, if by chance an appropriate bike falls in my lap, I’d race.

Now - it seems I am short a cow-bell.

flygurlz, race, bike, biking
