"And in a wide sea of eyes, I'd see one pair that I recognized..."

Theme: Romance (Subject line from "The Luckiest")

You’d think I would’ve done this update first, you know, before “Sex”, but ah well. Sorry for my inconsistency in “Composed, Performed, etc.” If I had more time, I’d look them all up. Enjoy!

“The Luckiest” - composed and performed by Ben Folds, Rockin' The Suburb

This song is simply beautiful. Ben Folds’s voice isn’t generally held in high regards, but I like it because it brings a sense of real humanity in that it’s not perfect or makes you go “Wow!”. It fits this song quite nicely. Ben Folds is also a brilliant lyricist and piano player, so if you put those two together, you get songs you love, like this one.
“I don’t get many things right the first time/ In fact, I am told that a lot/ Now I know all the wrong turns, the stumbles and falls brought me here/ And where was I before the day that I first saw your lovely face?/ Now I see it everyday/And I know/ That I am... I am.. I am... the luckiest”

“YOU” - composed by ?, Performed by Tsutchie Feat.Kazami, Samurai Champloo O.S.T.

This is a Jpop song, sang in pretty good English. Don’t be turned away though, this isn’t a Para Para, Ayumi Hamasaki-sounding song, it’s pretty plain in sound and it works well like that. Like I said, the English is actually pretty good and her voice is nice. The lyrics seem cheesy, but mood of the song tones them down.
“It feels natural to be around you (I feel beautiful)/ You made it possible, you’re wonderful.”

“Echo” - composed by ?, Performed by Incubus, The Morning View CD

I’m not the biggest Incubus fan, but every now and then I hear a song by them that I really like, this being one of them. It’s a quiet song and has a little Asian-sound to it, but not too much.
“There?s something about the way you move/I see your mouth in slow motion when you sing/ More subtle than something someone contrives/Your movements echo that I've seen the real thing.”

“I Do” - Composed by Yoko Kanno, Lyrics and Performed by Ilaria Graziano, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, the second O.S.T.

I can’t say enough good things about Yoko Kanno! Her teaming with vocalist (and lyricist in this case) Ilaria Graziano has amazing results. To tell the truth, I’m not even sure if it’s really romantic, it’s all in Italian and I can’t find a translation, but it sure as heck sounds romantic. Just amazing. Download it now.
“i do, i do emergere dal fondo per lottare e poi/ salire in alto più che mai/i do, i do guardare nel futuro e sorridere/ senza temere nulla più”
