Finally, a real update! Despite the Halloween Holiday, I thought I’d stray away from that and do a “sexy” theme for this update. A reminder to request songs and give feedback! You can even use the lovely link buttons under the user info to spread the word.

“Butterfly” - Composed by Yoko Kanno, Performed by M, Cowboy Bebop: Future Blues O.S.T. 4:57

This sultry song is composed mainly of what I believe is keyboard, as well as enticing vocals. “Butterfly” is very relaxed and easy to listen to. You're a love song/ Only halfway sung/ You're the knot that comes undone/ You're the daylight/ Dressed as darkest night/ The flight of a stringless kite

“Meet Me in the Red Room [Original Film Version]” - Composed by Marius/Daemion, Amiel DeVries, Performed by ?, Moulin Rouge Soundtrack 2 2:38

Unlike “Butterfly”, “Meet Me in the Red Room” is a boisterous and upbeat song. The lyrics aren’t very poetic, and are pretty scandalous, which makes this song a lot of fun to listen to (See: “Find all the euphemisms”). The song is credited as being performed by the London, Sydney, and Melbourne orchestras, but I was unable to find the powerhouse behind the sultry voice singing the lyrics. The only downfall of the song is the mix of moaning thrown in occasionally, but other than that, it’s definitely worth listening to.
The show can start as soon/ As I see money on the table,/ I have an empty space to fill,/ I'm willing if you're able.

“Zion” - Composed by Fluke, The Matrix: Reloaded O.S.T. 4:33

Only one thing comes to my mind, and given the scene it’s played in, it’s rather obvious: Sex. I find it hard to find well-done sexy songs that contain no lyrics, but this one prevails. There’s no really good way to describe what the sounds like, but the closet comparison that comes to mind is tribal beats meet trance. For those turned off by trance or techno, rest assured, as the trance tones though dominant are light in sound.

“Velveteen” - Composed by Yoko Kanno, Performed by Ilaria Graziano, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex O.S.T. 1 5:05

Another Yoko Kanno song makes its way into this week’s update. This song is one of my favorites, actually. For some reason, this song reminds me of a girl in a red dress looking out of her city apartment’s window surrounded by candles. Looking past my corniness, “Velveteen” is composed of entrancing synth-beats and lyrics sang in both English and Italian. Although I usually find the random use of other languages in songs as odd, in this case, it’s very well mixed and Ilaria Graziano has a beautiful voice.
seeing you in my tears/ in my own reflection/ I hear you in the wind that passes through me... Tu sei per me...iaria che respiro (You are for me... the air that I breathe)*
