Well it was a short stay in Sand. While it didn't exactly start out pleasant, it got better.
Once Temari and Yanagi-san got us out, the first place I wanted to be was far, far away from any Konoha citizen. Hung out at Temari's place - God damn, that palace is huge. Took a shower (and the wounds hurt, damn it), and she washed my hair for me. I cannot begin to describe the feeling of getting clean after wading in a swamp and catching cats and fighting bandits... it's like heaven. Especially when someone's massaging your scalp. Uhm... yes. But that's all that happened. Borrowed Gaara's clothes, she dressed my wounds, then (this is where you might get jealous, Chouji) she made a giant serving of yakisoba for me. Wonder if Old Man felt like that when Ma first made him something...
It was good, and if I were Chouji, I would have finished everything. But I'm not Chouji. So we talked about things... lots of things.
With that over and done with, she showed me around the village. This place is really quite fantastic... but it's big, so a lot of walking is required. Sadly. But I did enjoy myself.
As much as I wanted to sleep that night, we stayed up instead. After we explored the village to find some place quiet enough for her to spend time alone, we sat there and watched the moon. And mind, Suna has a really big moon. And it's amazingly bright too.
Then we came back - I am so glad Ino wrestled the map from Uncle. I don't want to take the long way again.
Uhm... yes.
I resumed my work at Ino's shop... on the bright side, I don't have to work there anymore.

On the other hand, why do girls have to make such a big deal out of everything...?
All I did was make one small comment about some ugly doodle and it resulted in me being shoved against the wall. By a girl, of all things.
I mean, seriously. The only time you ask a guy if he'd miss you is if you're dating him. When he's your teammate and not Chouji... it's just wrong. But she forced it out of me, anyway. It's only common sense, if I think about it - if someone's been around you since forever, it's hard not to feel weird if that someone's gone. So like I said, what's the big deal...?
.... I hope no one saw that happen.

But you know something's up when the moment you come back, your Old Man wants to drill you in jutsu. I mean, geez, he's never been this eager before.
Furthermore... Old Man was going to hand in some reports and insisted I tag along. For what, I don't know. But it's just suspicious that he's so... active all of a sudden.
On our way out of the building we bumped into Naruto... and this uh... super beautiful woman. Or at least Old Man said she's the greatest beauty blablabla... well she was beautiful. Is beautiful. Whichever. Although Naruto told me she was what - over 50? She doesn't look it, man... things just keep getting weirder.
So that's our new Hokage, huh... and a woman too.

I'm going to have trouble coming to terms with this.
