Fishies

Today I decided that I wanted a new tank for my fish. Actually it's not something that I just recently decided. I've wanted a new tank for my Beta for quite a while now. The little 2.5 gallon thing was not working out. I had to constantly clean it even with an alge eater, and it was constantly getting moldy on the top. Besides, 2.5 gallons is not a lot of room for my poor Beta to swim around in.

So I went to Wal Mart thinking I would upgrade to a 5 gallon tank for my Beta. Got there and it turns out that the nice glass 10 gallon tank is about $7.00 cheaper than the 5 gallon tank. So I got the nice 10 gallon tank. But the one little problem was that 10 gallons is an AWFULLY lot of room for just a Beta. So while I was at Wal Mart I went searching for some nice tank mates for Sushi *my Beta.* Now if you didn't know, Betas don't like many other fish. I had thought that Sushi would have left a harmless little alge eater alone, but alas.....Sushi was always chasing it around. After a while I had stopped seeing my littele alge eater, and figured Sushi had eaten it. So I was a little weary of what to get.

I finally decided that Sushi would have a hard time bullying a Plecostomus around so I got one. But as the Wal Mart employee was getting my new fish, I spotted the most bizare looking fish. It looked like a miniture eel with a butt ugly face. It was facinating to look at. I was told it was called a Dragon fish, and they were bottom dwellors like my Plecostomus, and generally they left other fish alone. So I got it.

Now when I got home it was time to set up the new tank. I put the dumb thing together and started taking the old decorations out of the 2.5 gallon tank so I could decorate the new tank with some of them. I also took Sushi out and put him in the nice little carry case that he came in and set him afloat in the new water so he could adjust to the water temperature. As I was cleaing the rest of the small tank out, all of a sudden my little alge eater that I thought Sushi had eaten came bolting out from a little nest of rocks. The little fucker scared the crap out of me doing that, but I was pleased that it was still alive.

So now I have 4 different types of fish and 3 of them are bottom dwellers. I've also decided on names for all of them. I've renamed my little alge eater to Bait, the Plecostomus is the new Vacume, and the Dragon is now Cleaner. Sushi will remain Sushi.

Oh, and Java is jealous of the attention that I gave my fish today.
