Why you should read this ...
Sad is an understatement. This is absolutely heart-wrenching! Sympathetic Peter lies ahead, and the way he deals with his life is sadly realistic. It brings to mind the Longbottoms - and how one's mind turns inwards when it cannot take any more. There's also a most believable reason for Voldemort murdering Dorcas Meadowes personally worked in.
All through this, you can see a Peter who began as a trusted friend but sank deeper and deeper into the Death Eaters against his will, and despite attempts to claw his way out. When we read the books, we only see Peter as he turned out, but here is a look into the journey to that stage, and it's heart-breaking to see his tired acceptance of what he's become.
