PARK BENCHES (hanhae)
[donghae's POV]
The park bench was still in the darkness, almost lonely. The moonlight shone soft, illuminating and cold. I hesitate to sit, but I do it anyway, it was as if something was drawing me closer. I didn't want to think about that though. It brought up to many memories. Too much questions with no anwers.
For one moment in time, I saw you sitting there, long legs crossed at the ankles, arms slung across the back of the bench, like you always do. There was a smile on your lips, soft and gentle and welcoming and it was exactly like it's always been and I can't help but fold myself into your arms.
But then as I wait for the warm embrace and it doesn't come, only emptiness and the frozen caress of the wind. I look up and there is nothing but soft moonlight and dancing shadows. I touched the old, smooth wood. It felt cool against my skin. I run my hands slowly, ever so slowly across the wood, a lover’s caress. My eyes closed as I traced the deep engraving in the left corner of the bench. I ran my fingers over and over the words, hoping it would come to life, “HG & DH=forever”. How I wish it would.
I want to hold you again. To be in your arms or you in mine. To be touched again. I trace over your features, the high cheekbones and soft lips, touching the air where I can still see you, in the exact place we sat all those month ago. I wrap my arms around you and I can feel you. Some impulse that had died with you sparks and burns again within me and then I am dancing. Gliding and twirling, not even caring if anyone saw, that Donghae of Super Junior was dancing again, after refusing to all this time. I dance, giving myself up completely to a haunting tune only we could hear. I dance because I know you want me to and I dance for you, only you and because I know you are dancing right besides me.
*for those of you who think you've read something similar...you did lol i stole the shihan and maded it a hanhae. sue me.
