Mark Sheppard! I'm kind of embarrassed to say this but it was Nicholas Brendon and Kelly Donovan that got me interested. I hear Nicholas Brendon is actually kind of a jackass IRL? But it's Xander! Xander.
ASB Showgrounds... is that way out in the burbs? I need to do some research. If I do come up I'll probably stay at my sister's place, do you remember going there? I'm jsut wondering how much of an impossible logistical undertaking this will be.
I am also pretty stoked abotu Nicholas Brendon and am hoping he'll be a good guy.
And nope, it's the buildings right next to the Alexandra Park raceway - just across the road from One Tree Hill/National Women's Hospital, if that helps you? So there are buses from near your sister's place, although I'm not sure how close they go. Definitely along the main road, though, so it'll be anything from a 10m to perhaps a 600m walk from a bus stop to the doors. (I realise one of those is infinitely preferable... :/ )
I just had a look on google maps and the buses look very doable. I'm much better at walking than I used to be, except for days when I am having a flare-up of symptoms - those days come along once or twice a month so I usually take my chances and just do what I want to do. In fact the other day I walked 6km. \o/

Oh, excellent! I wasn't sure how integrated our buses were in google maps - the train's hit or miss with it, sometiems - so that's good news. And that is even better news. Team you for the win!
Yes, they appear to be very integrated. If the info is not entirely reliable I'll sort the rest out when/if I am up that way, but for now it is encouraging that the journey would not be so daunting that I'd miss the signings. :-)
